Ask Marcus, he knows everything haha. But it may be possible that with the latest patch, the damage shown in the skill page is for no resistance and maybe if a lure is high enough to inflict negative resistance the max damage is higher than what is stated? otherwise I have no clue
Hahah, ya it is probably your rings. Rings don't show added max damage which in reality they do add invisible max damage.

Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?
Why play a class with 1/3 the armor?
Why play a caster?

Yes... that is one of my questions...
No. According to our current understanding of the game resistance cannot go negative.

If you have no +skills I don't know what to tell you. o.O

Out of my over 300 levels of characters I have never seen myself hit above my listed damage lol.

Interesting. No, as I listed previously, the only thing of note is the lesser wyrm ring that gives +5 foc vit dex. Even assuming the +5 Foc was not properly calculated in the Fire bolt stated dmg, that would only account for 2 - 3 pts of additional dmg, not 10 (based on the observed variance in stated dmg once I leveled from 82 to 83, putting 5 pts into focus).

I may have found your answer. Yesterday I was trying to increase my max skill hit on my Druid. I started off with no armor or weapons. I added some spirit shadow armor and bracelets that give energy for starters. My max hit according to skill page went up as expected. When I put on diamond icon, it was unchanged, even tho it adds 200 nature magic. I dont thibk it was a glitched weapon or anything because it did affect my max heals and buffs. Can anyone else confirm this on their Mage? Does ur diamond wep add to the max skill damage according to the skill page?

Let me get this out of the way first. Resistances cannot be negative as of a patch after update 2 where mages would nuke everything.

Many factors dictate your maximum skill damage such as focus bonus from gear, rings that add skill points, and possibly ability bonuses. All of these do not show up on the skills page which means you have the potential to higher than the provided value in the skill description.

It is NOT resistance.

Its your focus boost. If you have 600 focus, but with all your armour/offhands and such its up to 850. That focus boost gives your spells a damage boost, which in term helps with max hits
I will occasionly browse the forums, but for the most part im done.

If you wish to contact me, please feel free to message, as my E-mail is hooked up with the messages :D
