Re: 10% plat back on the 25th

so we should get a 3 for 1 platinum sale
Well, no

the reason i say 10% plat back (could even be 5%) is because its christmas, its a gift to those players that keep the game going by providing the money, lets face it, if OTM did not make any money would the game be as good as it is today, would it even be alive?

The non - plat buyers have nothing to lose, if anything they gain from this because more plat on the server means more items they can buy.

I have mixed feelings about asking for this.

Of course, I have been a big plat buyer and I would love to have it. I do think it is a very nice way for OTM to thank the plat buyers and it does then put more items on the market for non-plat buyers to buy. Not only plat items that get sold for gold, but also used equipment as the plat buyers upgrade and sell off old stuff. So the non-plat buyers indirectly benefit as well.

On the other hand, the prior plat bonuses have been an apology of sorts for server issues or long delayed updates. They were truly an unexpected gift and a nice one.

I don't think it is necessarily reasonable for us to expect/demand that OTM will automatically give us these plat bonuses every Xmas or every time there is a new big update.

I get Aileron's point about it being potentially lost income for OTM, but, for me one of the things that keeps me buying plat (which for me happens in large sporadic chunks rather than a recurring weekly or monthly amt) is that I feel like OTM is trying to take care of its customer base....especially the paying customers. So a few gifts here and there might keep me Feeling loyal to the company and wanting to support them therefore buying plat longer over the years....so idk if I agree that it is definitely lost income. One could also see it as an investment in long-term customer goodwill.

And having just spent 1.8 mill on brooms, there is no way I am spending actual cash for a cloud lol. Gifted plat tho? Oooo might then release a whole lot more elixers etc onto the market and get mah self a cloud.
