A more accurate way to calculate a clans power?

#1
So I was thinking on a more accurate way to calculate a clans power rating and from what I have seen, a semi-accurate method is calculated by it's power rating, Divided by it's active members.

I'm not sure if this is 100% accurate but it seems closer than the 'Most Powerful' list on the leaderboards. Here is a few of the top 2 or 3 clans in each worlds' 'Average Level of Active Players' that I've calculated using this method, rounded to the nearest whole number, and if it is a bit more precise, the power ratings need a little tweak  :

Arawn -
Uskoci: ALAP = 111
Badabing: ALAP = 132

Belenus -
Elementals: ALAP = 134
LivingLegends: ALAP = 105

Danu -
Prime: ALAP = 138
OmegaTriad: ALAP = 51
Unbreakable: ALAP = 106 (Omega have a higher Power rating)

Herne -
Defiance: ALAP = 143
HateYouSoMuch: ALAP = 32
Infection: ALAP = 129 (HYSM has a higher power rating  )

Morrigan -
Avalon: ALAP = 149
MarathDamane: ALAP = 126
Golgatha: ALAP = 90

Sulis -
Retribution: ALAP = 135
Olympian: ALAP = 60
SulisLegends: ALAP = 104 (Again, Olympian has a higher power rating)

And feel free to post the results for your world if I haven't yet

I know the Online Rankings don't mean anything and are just for show etc, but I'm sure most will agree they're fun to look at :)

Also, the problem with my results is that it does not show balance. A clan with 50 Warriors is less powerful and can't take as many bosses, efficiently atleast, than a clan with 20 Druids, 10 Warriors, 10 Mages, 10Rangers and 10 Rogues.

Enjoy :)

I do agree that this is a better way of showing which clan is the better one BUT alot is about tactics AND time zones.
For example, a clan could have a super good squad all level 145 and all in europe. They know everything of tactics to killbosses.

I bet they would be as succesfull as a clan full of 120-150's who all live in a different time zones and just do something (no tactics at all)

But yah tactics cant be put into online ranking. It would be fun to see the amount of 6-5-4-3-2-1 star kills per clan though. See who are the boss killers and who are the grinders :)

I guess this could help but look at it this way.

What makes you more powerful? Levels. So the most levels in a clan means the most powerful. Whats wrong with that? And it only does count the ones active by the way. Any that havent logged on in a while are not counted.

Yes there are other factors of what makes you/yourself more powerful as in stats/abilities and items, but there is no way that those can be implemented into that kind of system and it would also take extreme math.

Yah this is simply based on player levels and clan power though levels. It is impossible to add in gear, tactics, organisation etc.

@Rikitt, I think we have different perspectives on what makes a clan powerful. Quality is better than Quantity IMO, and 10 150 toons is much, much more powerful than 50 100 toons.

I think fewer members that are mainly high level is what makes a clan more powerful. Not neccasarily more levels in total.

First of all,
There truly is no way to gauge actual power of a clan. As previously mentioned, there may be clans with all members online at the same time, or one with only a few members that is as effective as a larger clan. Some players in every type of clan spend more plat, have more alts, more devices, and/or have more in-game time. These things are hard to measure (and frankly, dont always mean anything, depending on who is controlling them ;).

When i was a noob, there was no question... A very small clan on herne (ToD) could kill any boss, and made the rest of us look foolish when we tried. As my level grew, another, larger clan (SS), showed it was very effective also. It was comparing apples to oranges though. They used different methods, and the players in each clan had different relationships.

I like your idea tho, as it does at least differentiate between the noob clans with 2k members and the clans with fewer members, who have each worked hard for their levels. But then, do we use the actual number of members, or active only? The list goes on...
