Shapeshifting!

#1
Ok, so this will kill horses, most novelity, and speed boosts. However, enough with the downsides.

Druid:
Bird (hopefully a fast big one.)

Mage:
Necromancer (Just like a dark cloud appears at the feet and covers the body)

Ranger:
Hunting Dog

Rogue:
Bull

Warrior:
Griffin

These are completely subject to change, but the main idea is that classes can change shapes to adapt to their environment. Some shapes could give camo, spell boosts, armor boosts, dex boosts, you name it. And, it should be part of the dragon armor

It could be like a seperate guy giving a quest for an ammy that gives this power. I know it's too late for update 4, but could make a nice patch between 4 and 5. Also change the animals and whatnot completly, but I think the base idea is good.

PS.: This idea is somewhat of a copy of the druid forums, so thank you who ever brought it up.

Sincerily,

Someliteguy.

sorry i dont want to be a bull... lol giant wolf would be nice, but overall im not fond of the idea
a druid skill that could change a group member into an animal temporarily might be nice
pigman, with the fury of the pigs and the mind of a man
level 210+ rogue
Morrigan
Avalon
put your pants on, we're going out

Yeh this would really limit the game . It sounds like youd be happy with just more options for transformation charms. As far as assigning a speed and animal to each class that just makes no sence. I also have to ask why a bull for a rogue? Why not a snake or as Pigman stated a wolf something a bit stealthier than a giant bull.

I'm not going to argue the merits of puting this in the game. I wanted to point out that shapeshifting is consistent with Celtic myth:
The theme of shapeshifting is found in Celtic myth regardless of the specific country one invesigates. Thoughout my studies of Celtic lore I have found that there were very specific reasons or circumstances for shapeshifting. These reasons fall into at least four different categories, they are punishment, survival, protection or as a means to facilitate rebirth. Sometimes a story will fall into more than one of these categories, such as the Welsh story of Llew Llaw Gyffes.

lol i find your animal suggestions hilarious.

i'm thinking for druids possibly a dove? or maybe a seagull. something peaceful. wisp? fairy? butterfly? idk. nothing big or fast. thats just not a druid's style.
a necromancer is not an animal..... maybe mages could be wisps. or unicorns or something magical. cat? owl? ooh i like owl.
rangers are obviously meant to be hawks. no question there. and i'm obviously not biased whatsoever. at all. none.
rogues are sneaky and quick. Bull? really? I would love to hear how you came up with that. I vote snake. seems perfect. or maybe a scorpion.
for warriors, ima gonna ressurect your bull idea. big, heavy, strong, kinda slow, kinda dumb(jk! ) seems like a good fit. that or a bear(same concept)

im still not sure how i feel about the idea as a whole, but if we do put this or any other animal/pet idea into play, i would like to see these animals for each class.

AAAAND if we do put this in the game i think it should be a skill. you cast the skill, and turn into your animal for 30 seconds or something. then you turn back automatically. not sure what the perks would be of changing. maybe it just highlights each class's style? so like when a warrior turns into a bull he gets insane amounts of hp and armour. when a rogue turns into a snake he gets like 93% camo, and a massive one-time hit. you get the idea. I'll let you guys run wild with ideas about what happens when you're an animal.
