The first person to hit the mob will lock it to their group - there will be a visible indicator above the enemy showing that the enemy is locked to them.

When the enemy dies, the loot goes to the group that has the lock regardless of who did the most damage to the enemy.

If the enemy resets because the attacking group wipes out or the enemy dies, the lock is removed.

If the group attacking the enemy wipes and other groups are also fighting the enemy, the group that wipes will lose the lock and it will transfer to the group that has done the most damage to the enemy.

Does this effect bosses?

This will remove all competition... :x
And also cause more campung because everyone wants that first hit, i could imagine a warrior with his druid on other device or just another druid camping a boss spawn and attack it when it spanws then just wait for the clan to show up and group them and take the kill. I am against target lock
I imagine if this doesn't get implemented a player with a high level rogue and a high level ranger on another device coming up on a boss being killed by a group of players 30 levels lower then him and ksing the mob .... O wait that happens already. Don't be so arrogant when you make a post. The reality is that if a warrior and a Druid can stay alive on a mob then I'm ok with them gettig the opportunity to kill a mob. Pleas change the system to help force players to play the game the way it was designed
Sweefish, you seem to be the arrogant one here. Kassoe has a valid point. I share this concern.

Hi there, we've been working on a number of refinements based on player feedback, including things like the requirement to do a certain percentage damage to the enemy before the lock is activated, and to set level limits to the ability to lock so that players far outside the level range of the enemy can't lock to avoid griefing. So for example a level 1 can't block legitimage players fighting a level 150 enemy, but also a level 150 can't lock a level 1 enemy that low level players are trying to fight. Also to stop issues with the xp gameplay being affected by the lock, only loot is affected by the lock not the xp, but anyone can still fight the enemy regardless of who has the lock.

So this should be a real improvent to the current game, it's been a large amount of development work to get this in and refine it, and it still needs to go through beta testing, but personally I think it plays really well and it's going to be a big improvement to the game and add some fun new dimensions to the competition between the clans.

% of damage before lock makes me feel a bit better about this for sure , first to hit would have been terrible .

Xp going to the group or player that did the most damage seems good and bad to me , good because it means target lock will not promote power leveling , bad because ks on xp mobs ( the worst kinda ks IMO ) still seems possible .

It's great that this will go through beta testing as well .

It doesn't prevent power leveling but neither does the current system. But I agree ksing on xp mobs will still be a problem. I was hoping to completely remove ksing on 1-3 star mobs which is why I advocated first hit for them. We will let beta work it out.
