Now your putting words in my mouth. Yeah, you got ks'd and yeah, it's not fair. A lot of games and even worlds have ksers and dealing with them isn't always easy, but a target lock is taking it too far for just this example. You have a kser and that's a problem. Unless the majority of your world consists of ksers, target locking is not te best option. Don't do permanent damage out of temperary anger.
I was asking you to clarify.

And it is not temporary anger. On the world of Arawn all the major clans have a non ks policy. If you KS you will be kicked from the top 4 clans. A KS on Arawn is defined as taking the kill away from the person who first hit the mob. This is how are world works. 100% auto lock is merely implementing in code what is already world policy. It is a very cooperative world. We even stand in line to wait for gladiators and those who take cuts are reprimanded. The person in question that the OP discusses was put on probation in his clan and will be kicked if it happens again.

The argument that lock will ruin the game is false. 100% target lock will not ruin the game it would make all worlds like Arawn and we like it that way. I have no problem with different worlds having different rules. OTM would probably do well to consider that. This is why I continue to support the lock on 123 stars. The other worlds need to have their KS parties. On Arawn the lock will not change our social climate. What it will do is remove the drama when someone breaks the rules.
The Gladiator was put in the arena to be fought over... There aren't enough spawns in the day for everyone... Hence why you fight for it... Your world is kinda defeating the purpose of the gladiators...

100% target lock will not ruin the game it would make all worlds like Arawn and we like it that way.
I've said this before and you acknowledged it too, but for the sake of those reading, Arawn and Mabon are completely different worlds and those of us on mabon dont want to play in a world like Arawn, It just sounds boring. For our sake, please dont ask for a 100% target lock.

The arguement is always going to be against me, because I am a high lvl, long playing, top clan, rogue. However, I have talked to others on my server, including those in other clans and we like the aspect of having some competition. We dont know if someone is going to run around the corner and take our kill and that is exciting to me. Please know that I am speaking from as many perspectives as I can and am not trying to create a game that is unfair to new players.

Some of you seriously need to focus. It isint about ventus, its about the fact the 1 rogue was able to ks 4 other players. In terms of game mechanics that shouldn't even be possible.


Here's my 2 cents on this topic. I kind of like the nostalgic feeling you get when you overpower somebody else. Here's what's wrong with this game.


This game should be about the strongest clan. Not hey let's be nice and work together as a mixed clan, um no, survival of the fittest, the strongest clan wins, nothing wrong with that. With that said though, if one clan hogs all the bosses like deadroot, or falgren, and prevents other clans from upgrading, how is another clan even suppose to compete? This is the developers fault.

I absolutly love the idea of bosses roaming the land with rare drops, it's awesome. But when it comes to quest bosses, these should be placed in dungeons for clans to kill and upgrade their gear. No I'm not talking about CrookBack, or Catacombs, I mean group specific dungeons where only players from your group can enter. With out any ksing or rushing or any of that nonsense.


This way players can progress and actually become the same if not better than other clans.

When OTM provides REAL dungeons, no one should complain about KS's in PvE zones where rare non-quest related bosses are. Because that's how it works. Strongest Clan gets it all.

From my experience of playing other games with target lock, this is what will happen in many cases.

One, two, or however many people begin to engage a mob/boss. A high level comes around the corner. Unable to KS he watches as the group wipes. He then takes the mob for himself.

At least in a world where KS is possible the high level helps with the kill. With more damage the odds of the lower level group staying alive increase.

Personally I would rather be in a world where I lived to fight an epic battle and ended up lootless, then live in a world where I died lootless.
The way admin described the implementation. The starting group will get the drops, the killing group will get the xp.

Ventus is a 4* PH... It takes about 3 hits to kill... You couldn't take down atleast 50% of his health in that time? Well, less than 50%...
You don't even need to get to 50% because bu the time the fight finnishes, you would have had time to hit some more.
Papi, im not saying it's right to ks but it's not the games problem, it's the players' problem. Saying this, I do understand that constant ksing can ruin the game but it is all on you for not preventing this in the first place.

Its the game problem how dinnamics and the coding is. Some classes cant even macth out in certain battles. If you play multi class you know how broke some classes are.

I can boss my ego as warrior killing all deathcaress and crockback hollow bosses and said my number of 6 kills is high but to win a boss the really you have to compete for a kill.... Well.

I will love to see how this players does when target lock comes how they will rush at 70% left like they do and try to ks. Nerfted classes , i will love to sea that happen ...

And please dont bully. Saying lvl up cause is not about lvls .

I like open kill system but the game is broken because only 2 classes can dps and outdps a well organize group, target lock is a easy fix to a more bigger issue. This game is rule by rangers all others class are broken.

I can see Papi's point here. I wouldn't mind 100% lock IF rogues get a big DPS boost and a life drain skill so that they are still useful.

If DPS stays king than warriors need a boost in damage. 2 players of any class (with the exception of full support) should be able to out dps a rogue of similar level without needing to rebirth. This way rogues are a clear cut best DPS class, which is a little blurry atm, but they can't just come and b*tchslap a whole group in the face.

I think the bigger problem at a higher level is the unsurpassable bridge that gear has given. My rogue is 142 with bloodlust, greater bp, rad legs, etc. I can out DPS higher level mages, rangers, and even rogues pretty easily who don't have similar gear. They will never stand a chance against me until the update. I understand that those of us who have played the longest deserve an advantage, but I think that it is important to always keep an option in game that rivals the best gear and is available at any time. In this case I would say a lvl 150 extremely hard quest that ends in you getting a BP similar to greater (80 damage). The quest would NOT be boss related so players actually have a chance to do it without being in the top clan. Obviously it is too late to change the current game, but with the coming updates I hope admin will keep this is mind. In most MMOs legendary crafted items are the best. Everybody can get them, they just have to put in the hard work. The biggest problem with the game is players who work super hard who will never be the best.
