sorry to say this but took me about 390. yule hats to get purple, the last 10 (adds total of 400) gave me the blue yultide hat, its all random (5 hours of collecting)

Yea it's definitly random , I got purple in less than 100 presents , still no black after about 1000 and then another purple , I think I have used about 2000 presents and still hunting the elusive black hat .

i guess i was just lucky if it helps try this Aileron make a new toon then transfer the presnets to that toon and go to caslte and hand in the yule presents, i dont know if this is possible and its obviously random, just hand all in on new toon if you haven't gave up yet, after 170-200 presents you may get black
