Well since i now have my anger to 150 and havent been wanting to waste lixs with the new update and higher mobs on the horizon i have just been killing for gold lately and i switched to knucks and honestly i dont know why I ever played before with out them. If they don't work with your toon its becouse you have the wrong build, knucks require strength plain and simple and a touch more health than your normal bow build. I would say everyone give it a shot you would be suprised at the speed the damage is lower than my bow but when you can hit a mob three times in the amount of time it takes to hit him once it works pretty good.

Bow - avg damage per shot 480-625
Knucks - can come close to hitting 3 times to 1 bow shot with a damage between 250-400

So at the low end of the damage range 250x3 = 750 dmg so yeah they are pretty sweet

Im curious to how you got it that high if you only used knuckle blades for 5 minutes. Did you go around just punching random objects?

Also, why would you suggest a spear over blades? Is it because of the "higher" base damage, lol?

I have been using knocks for jst over a week non stop and have just gotten my h2h to 635 currently, while I probably miss a little more with knucks than with a bow these things are insanley fast and far better than a spear. I currently have spear ability around 1350 and honestly I can kill faster and take far less damage with knucks that with a spear or bow. If you are considering being and "alternative" ranger for fun or for game play here are some of my views from testing builds.

Knucks:
Strength - the higher the better since knucks are pierce and pierce damage is multiplyed by strength. Roughly 1 pierce gives you 6.5 damage or there abouts
Dex - needs to be high enough to give you good hit/miss ratio and defence but with knucks you can only use spikes and light heal, I personally have it at 270 atm but thats becouse I use bow for any bosses. I found about 150 is a good number.
Vitality - I currently have it set at 180 with no regen, however I do have a couple hundred sigils and with a light heal I can restore health fairly rapidly.
Offhand - Golden Blades (Ice, Fire, Magic makes no diffrence)

Spear
Strength - Same as knucks
Dex - Same as knucks
Vitality - I personally set mine at 200 (no regen) this is mainly due to the slowness of attacks.
Offhand - I personally like the trident over the blades mainly beouse I need some regen for casting rapid shot, spikes and using Light heal

So my proof: This is the basic dps calculation form the general discussion area

Frozen Bow: (Offhand: Magic Quiver)
1,083 Damage & 2,900 Speed

1.3 x 1,083 / 2.9 = 485 DPS Auto attack (seemed a little low but I checked and it's about right on as an average)

Diamond Knuckel Blades: (Offhand: Golden Ice Blade)
687 Damage & 1750 Speed

1.3 x 687 / 1.75 = 525 DPS Auto attack (now I dont hit mobs for 525 but like I said in previous post I can hit 2 or 3 times with knucks per 1 shot from bow)

Diamong Pike: (Offhand: Golden Ice Blade)
1,087 Damage & 3,800 Speed

1.3 x 1,087 / 3.8 = 371 DPS Auto attack (you can see in this calculation how speed has killed my dps)

Here is my Build in case anyone wants to try, found it works well for a duel purpose ranger (Boww - Bosses and Knucks - Fun and some Bosses)
Str: 330 - 350 with imperial bracelet
Dex: 270
Foc: 15 - 35 with imperial bracelet
Vit: 160 - 180 with imperial bracelet

Additional:
Golden Helm of Prowess - 50 Magic dmg
Radiant Earthstone Grieves - 80 Heat Damage
Mighty Amulet of Blades - 15 Slashing
Grand Talon bracelet - 5 Pierce
Royal Firefang Ring - 40 Heat Damage
Major Coldsteel Ring - 15 Cold Damage
Mystic Stormfist Ring - 10 Magic Damage
Golden Blade of Ice - 200 Cold damage, +75 str (i use with my knucks and spear)
Golden Quiver of Magic - 100 Magic Damage, +75 dex (i use with frozen bow)

Ok first of all...

Knuckle blades are a liability. They cost a bit and don't really deliver as much damage as a bow..

I own a golden ice blade and when I tried a dia knuckle blade with it for 5 mins, I quickly saw how useless they were.

They are ok to buy if you have to much money.

Thou I would suggest spears.

If was ranger i will used knuckles. I mean listen to funnish he knows what he is saying ....

I have not used knucks personally but I have seen them in action. They are extremely fast. I was training with a friend of mine, and he was using a diamond knuck and a fire blade. he was incredibly fast. However, him being a mage he probably doesnt have much strength, which is why I can still out dps him with a quartz bow. however, if he was a strength build, I am sure he would way over dps me. Knucks are great for interrupting skills, the bosses dont cast half as many skills when hes there on a boss. For a dex build I dont think that knucks would be overly beneficial, but maybe. someday Ill have to try them for myself.

Sorry nap mages can't equip knucks , he was using bare hand or he wasn't a Mage

Knucks work extremely well with a dex build , just imagine swinging twice as often as you shoot and never missing , look past the damage number because each swing lands and the total damage adds up .

I could swear he was using a knuck... Seth the Great, look him up if you can. Ill have to see what he is using. Good point though. And that would be so... awesome. thatd be like my rogue with 30 levels added and more dex on steriods.
