Trident is better than dagger if you're looking for a more defensive play-style.

Would the shield not be best for a defensive approach?

Or venom dagger to finish the mob fast aswell as have the regen and a decent amount of dps.

Again, never used the trident so not sure how well it works. With a 2nd device Druid I just go for the best dps gear to finish my mobs quickly.

No damage with the shield.
The trident gives regen, health/energy and dex for evasion and higher hit chance but it also gives strength for a bit of damage.

@KiyKiy, I guess you're right, but that's why I think a Venom Dagger would be better I've noticed that most Otherworld mobs use skills so dex is not that useful for soloing in Otherworld.

Edit: sorry just re-read your post and realised it says 'best for a defensive style' not 'best for soloing' haha.

I use a golden trident which is 225k in shop, it gives 45 dex and strength bonus and also does 15 ticks to your health/energy, if you have other regens like heroic amulet etc then I wouldn`t be too keen to buy it. But probably the golden venom or ice, at the moment my regens are: heroic amulet(20 ticks energy/health),rejuv ring(5 ticks energy) and a trident (15 ticks energy/health). I am currently going for the +75 strength one now, going to be selling my trident for like 200k and then I will have around 420k to buy items.
