Before this gets too far derailed....

I see three separate issues in this.

1) brand new players (if, in fact, this guy is not an alt) being able to power level so quickly.
Kind of ruins the whole experience of questing, meeting new players and working with them to reach goals... The things that make an MMO what it is. But, it isn't against the TOS to power level (or many of us wouldn't have high lvl alts).

2) buying / trading / sharing accounts.
We can discus the morality, or usefulness of this until we are blue in the face, but the fact remains... It is against the TOS.

3) buying / selling ANY in-game items outside the game/server economy.
I am not sure I have read where OTM stands on this, but most game companies have clear rules against buying or selling game items for cash. At the moment, it appears we are allowed to sell and trade items on one server, in order to obtain items on another server, which does, in fact affect the economy on at least one server, so I feel it walks a fine line on the issue. (Note: i only assume this is acceptable, bc so many posts are made about this, and no one has quoted the TOS to say it isn't allowed)


IF OTM were to take action and delete the sold char, it seems like it wouldn't change anything, bc the items have already been xferred to the newer char. And, in the future, if no action were taken about selling things for cash, people could simply sell all their items for the cash amount, instead of selling them on the char.

Oh, there is a 4th issue... if this guy were a clanmate, and chose to sell this stuff/char to a guy outside the clan, members of his clan would probably be furious about the whole thing. Frankly, i am surprised we don't see some of their outrage here... Hope he doesn't play other games with them, or he may find himself cut off.

You may not share your password, buy, sell, give or trade any account, nor attempt to buy, sell, give or trade any account.

Clearly a violation.

COMPANY owns, has licensed, or otherwise has rights to all of the content that appears in game. You agree that you have no right or title in or to any such content, including without limitation the virtual goods or currency appearing or originating in the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, or any other attributes associated with an account.

Not even his property to sell.

COMPANY does not recognize any purported transfers of virtual property executed outside of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, or the purported sale, gift or trade in the “real world” of anything that appears or originates therein. You may not sell in-game items or currency for “real” money, or exchange those items or currency for value outside of the game.

Yup, OTM is the same as most games... no rl currency transactions. Server to server transfers are fine (though risky) because they deal with in-game transfers.

You must not under any circumstances share your password with anyone, failure to comply may result in your account being banned. Trading items or gold with another player is entirely at your own risk, COMPANY will not return any items or gold traded between players under any circumstances.

If an account has been sold, the password was obviously shared. OTM needs to check the chat logs, then ban the account.

I think everyone is well aware by now that trading/buying/selling accts is against the terms of service.

I see shouts every day and get whispered at least once a day asking if I want to buy someone's acct, so it is also clear that everyone knows the rule is not enforced and people can do this without fear of consequence.

So, since it appears admin is going to do nothing other than repeatedly remind everyone it is illegal, anybody have suggestions about what we as a community can do?

Treat accounts not leveled by the person playing them as if they are scammers...

I love how admins delete and lock these threads. They claim they don't aprove of this subject, but do nothing when sent tickets. Just thought I would vent cause my ingame enemy who has played this game for about 2 months and power leveled out of no where to be the highest lvl in our world. Has just purchased a lvl 150 rogue with full radiant set too duel device with.
If anyone recalls the last thread made by eliminater was locked. But I had stated a lvl 150 rogue was seen being sold. Turns out we know who bought it. I believe the original owner wanted real currency as he was quiting.

Just thought since no action gets taken... I would come and whine on forums and inform the media. Sorte of speak.

Are u guys jealous that i am only play several month and get to be lvl154!!!
Dont be a retart for urs information i did play around the summer time on the event of that!!!
And also who know me i train my character very hard to get to that point ok!!!
If u cant train well dont be jealous of other keep it to urself plz!!!

No I am not jealous that you leveled your warrior to level 154, as a matter of fact I'll even congradulate you again. Congrats!
Getting to your level is quite an achievement concidering the time you did it in.
How ever the rogue that is level 151 you had no part of training, that is not achievement. And all the radiant gear in wich you possess when you didn't even swing your sword on that boss ONCE, that is also not an achievement. You can swindle up what ever story you want. Everyone knows what went on, and if admins would sober up one day and do abit of investigating you will be back to what you have achieved on your own.... Working very hard for what you have, as you also stated.

The proof is in the pudding. It's in the admins hands now. But as history repeats it self... This thread will be locked and forgotten

Dude there is no jealousy , I have like 400+ more levels than you and I leveled em myself lol . I don't like cheaters , had you come out and said , stfu that's my character chplayer is full of crap I would have to think about who is telling the truth , but you didn't so I don't .

Sounds like you were jealous of other players with better gear and broke the terms and conditions to get the toy the other kids had.
