in the two states where guns are illegal, guns are still easy to acquire because they are not illegal in neighboring states.

Most guns in NYC come from the south , illegally transported into the city .

aye thats what im saying, guns are easy to get because they are legal in most states, and can be illegally moved into states where they are prohibited.

But the keyword is illegally obtained. I am all for enforcing existing laws and stiffer penalties, but banning or restricting my access erodes my freedoms.

i think that in order to own a gun you should either

a) have military training

or

b) have undergone a safety and licencing course

That I agree with, training is key. I had a hunter education course at 13 years old then military. I even believe in hand gun training before able to buy. Plaxico Buress might not have shot himself in the groin with training.

see we agree on something! some random should not be able to walk into a pawn shop and come out with a handgun.

A key point people are missing is what about the people who dont want guns in their houses. I personally dont want a gun so I dont accidently shoot myself or my kids dont mishandle it or someone breaks into my house and uses it. Those people are protecting themselves by not having guns. However if my neighbor doesnt not hold the same values as me and owns a gun, he can easily shoot me. So by taking away guns and making them illegal, you are protecting the people who dont want anything to do with them and refuse to own them for the safety of their family.

So because I am a law abiding citizen and you disprove of guns, I should have a freedom taken away. I say move to China and leave me alone. I do not advocate taking your freedoms.
