Thanks for the info, I think there is more to consider than just what the damage shows on the skill page. As I mentioned, the benefit from additional focus may alter the damage more for one spell vs the other due to the coefficients being different. Also you have to consider spell recast times, etc. I'll definitely test out some more though so I appreciate your feedback!
If this is the case it would make sense for me (Skill-based mage) to drop Ice Shards and Lure of Ice and max out Lure of Assassins. I guess it also begs the question... has anyone figured out Aggragoth's pierce resistance numbers? I have the ability to get 50/35 due to extreme luck in finding a godly lure of assassins ring, but don't want to waste points if it isn't needed. I think there were threads about 30 being enough to drop his fire and ice resist to 0 but I haven't seen anything about pierce.
Focus effecting could be shown on the numbers of those skills. But we can't see abilities directly. Therefore, when my equipments make me 2440 fire and 1540 ice abilities, the inci is much better than ice shard. And to be frank, if this Mage may have forever gone, I(we) would never share those info.
