i might start a ranger because.....

ok lets be honest...\\

rogues used to be exciting and unbroken. since update 3 was implemented we got an unnessesary debuff when all that was needed was the other classes to be buffed a tiny bit.

now... the new kill reward system is goeing to be a fail. rogues wont be needed.
all of our skills dont work! well mostly they are unneeded. ( if quickstrike was fixed i probably be a bit happyier. sneaky takes up alot of energy but i think that skill is fine. rend is sh*t <fullstop> assasinate is fine. but playdead really needs to commit suicide so we can get a useable skill.)

if you like being the exciting class id go mage/ranger for this update.

reason i picked ranger is because theyre so easy to train up. they are awesome dps and heal. they arent broken they are actively amazing.

so... id like to hear how other rogues are going to cope whith update 4?
(lol please dont say ''im a tank rogue'' seriously i feel like punching someone in the face when they try turning rogues into tanks...)

Well my story is this.

I had a warrior since I started, but I have basically not levelled it for about 3 months or more because I didn't feel any need to waste exilars on something not needed, only job is really tanking, imo no point having a dps warrior.

I made a druid because our clan was short of them for the big boss fights, but at level 110 I was eating untold exilars on slow levelling, so again it went on a break.

Now I have a ranger, and just autoing on a strength build is so easy, I just dual my druid and it is way too easy to level.

I have in the last week decided that I want to level my druid again so my only real option was to make a mage, again using the druid I will get it to level 130 or 140 along with the other two.
When this happens I will simply cloak the druid and have it easy again to boost upto 140.

Basically mages and rangers are pretty awesome.
Warriors can only really do tanking well.
And Druids are a bit of an arse to get levelled without help.

But if I can get them all to 140 by update ill be happy as a pig in sh*t.

A rogue? Doesn't seem an awful lot of point atm. And if I don't have one by update I doubt I will spend a few months training it to level 170-180 as it will take ages.......... But them again so do the updates.

And btw, I really hope rogues get a massive damage boost over rangers as they are pretty pore compared to pre-update.

I have been leveling my Mage as I feel that if rogues don't get some serious help, they will be useless
There is no way any class should be able to touch a rogue for straight out killing ability.
However take knuckleblades. Why can a ranger Weald them and swing at the same speed as a rogue?
I'm not saying don't let a ranger use them (personal preference is hiding (bow only))
But if a ranger and rogue had equal stat points and both had hnuckles and the same gear on, the rogue shout win easily, but it would be pretty close,

They need a big boost as the are the only straight up dps class.

Pig, you might as well level an alt that you think will be better post-update.

I am very hopeful that rogues get a nice dps boost and I expect they will in the form of skill damage . I'm not sure if the op's sig is correct or what 75+ means in terms of his actual level but rogue damage far surpasses ranger at lower through mid levels in my experience . Knucks are great for both classes , there are very few bosses that ranger should be using knucks on IMO and bow damage does not compete with frozen dagger , IMO only knucks do .

I don't think rogue is as broken as most people do though , I just think it's a bit more boring a class to play than ranger or Mage especially while auto damage is clearly king .

So in update it has been confirmed that rangers will no longer be able to switch to spear cast rapid shot and then switch back to knucks , hopefully rogues are able to add massive damage to whatever weapon they use by way of skills , I think this will put rogues at a clear advantage .

I also hope otm raises the stats plateau. As is 300 str will be optimal all the way to 200 and our damage will stay relatively the same until then but we will all have enough health to tank aggragoth

I would like to see all rogue skills cast no longer then an auto attack and have some critical hit buff to use on themselves. The problem I believe with sneak and assasinate is the massive energy it uses(like 200 energy for a none focus class what a load of bollocks only mages and Druids should have skills which cost this much) also the fact that there casting time is so long for a speedy class. If it was the same as auto then it would always make better dps.
