I'll try again was never good at explaining things lol.

Ratio means that your attack and mobs defence is 1:1

This means if you have 2435 attack and the mobs defence ins 1211 you will hit it 2435 times and miss it 1211 in 3646 hits(on average which you can work out a % for

To work out a % you take your attack and divide it by your attck +defence so in this case

2435/(2435+1211)=0.667 to make that sum a % you multiply by 100 which is 66.7% hit % chance

To work out your damage per hit you take your average damage (or top damage knowing that it will be less then this ofc) then multiply by 0.667 which gives you an average. Using this with different builds as long as yOu can work out the mobs defence can prove which is a better build or gear for that fight. Hope it helps :)

in layman's terms - Just play with your numbers, kill some stuff and work with what feels good to use.

As another example (not involving Celtic Heroes):

I have some apples in a bag with some strawberries. In the bag, the ratio of apples to strawberries is 2:1. This means that for every strawberry, there are 2 apples.

That's what a ratio is - how one amount is related to another amount, and as one increases (by multiplication), the other will increase by the same factor.

brookie I don't think it was linear like that. Yes it was 50% chance for equal attack and defense, but I think their were diminising returns after that to some extent. Mabye papi remembers. Brookie can you find your data again so we can reanalyze or is it lost?

Its wasnt linear its a plateau effect. Its in the form of ratio the formula i worked out was...

X=attack which you have
Y= defence of mob

Hit % chance= X/(X+Y)

It can't be linear its impossible with that formula. It seemed like they was linear before as we used a specific range or results but as i did mention in thread its not linear. That is the ratio and formula i worked out and its correct to my knowledge.
