Druid Tank

#1
I wanted to write a little about playing my druid and what fun I am having being able to solo catacomb Boss's and some of the Shalemont bosses as well.....and survive for a while against harder bosses too. I have beefed up my vitality and with the shield I have over 1800 health. No roots for me I just wade in and start whacking, firing vines and lightening.

I approach soloing a boss like I do healing for a boss fight. I cast embrace and shield and try to keep them on during the whole fight if possible. I know these get interrupted a lot but I will continue to spam those buttons until they cast. I know that eventually my energy will run down so I try to conserve where possible. I wont hit shield, embrace, or vines unless they have expired. If I get Really low on energy I relay on my rejuvenate Amulet and just use Natures touch and slowly pound the enemy with my totem and heal when I have enough energy. It is a tricky thing becuase of the interrupts to natures touch.

Also I am a level 76 Druid!

Bosses in Shalemont I've solo'd
Jarell
Stabscar
Laird
Notchspire
Issian Firecry

here are the skills I have maxed:

Lightening, Vines, Touch, Embrace, Bark.

Here is the equipment:

Armor
Pre update Plate
Warden legs gloves boots and helm

Lux Items
Golden Rejuv amulet
Golden Gloves of Haste
Golden bloodlust helm
Golden Orb of Energy
Golden Shield of Valour

Weapon
Ancient Bear Totum

Regarding the lux items, I didn't initially buy all of them them for my druid but they sometimes come in handy during a fight.

Since I have a big selection of equipment I try to choose what will be best for the boss I am fighting. Magic attacks I use the orb and Warden, others I use the shield and pre-update. I may switch out the gloves of haste and blood lust for more DPS. Sometimes I have to try 2 or 3 times but when I can finally do it it is really thrilling. This is one of the funnest parts of the game for me!

Oh and I was able to get most of the lux items at less than half price! It seems that everyone was broom crazy this Halloween

Any way good lock out there Druids!! After being a Ranger enthusiast, I now am loving playing my druid. I am leveling them together!

I'm going for the same type of style. Have you experimented with different stats? Or what are your stats now that have been working best?
Off topic sorry.. But are you by chance the Boudicca from Danu?

In response to the thread - I like having high vitality. Spamming heals makes the druid an extremely versatile class at high levels. I believe its one of the only ones to solo level 90 wisps without potions or healers around. Very happy with the versatility and durability of most fights.

I have many threads on a tank Druid and many posts on my setup latest post is in a topic about soloing bosses if you want to see my setup please refer there. I have soloed all bosses in stonvale except the Druid bosses and spirehoof. I've even soloed the Xmas bosses but I used potions with them.

Now think here, druids are sorta limited in pvp, if they fight a ranger, then they're probably doomed interrupted or not because think about it, my ranger always kills the druids and it has quick heal, sorta like a druid same cooldown, now if a druid and a ranger had dueled each other and they both had a rejuv the Ranger would win because he would of Magic protection, it's like a fireball I'd say and those barely hurt me and since druids use more energy to heal it'self and needs more health, (Because of lack of armor) It would loose even if it had every rejuv it could try to put on, because when a druid is level 136 and your ranger is 125 that druid would need a whole lot of energy.....It's just an idea I dunno.....and does vines interrupt heals? like a druid vs druid.

i once maxed shiled of bark then the rangers melee was like 32 or 56 and he was like omg. but the cost however was my attack and when i attacked, the ranger just laughed , then i won anyway, but i alternated my skills back again and now i cant do rangers or rogues. the only class i think is easy is mages.
Not playing celtic heroes anymore
Even though I quit, nobody is getting anything.
