Burnout

#1
Hey everyone! First time posting here but I constantly see the same themes over and over. Burnout has always been a problem with RPG's. Back in the pencil and paper days people would constantly start over. Allot of people would never play higher than level 15-20 because it was no fun for them. The joy in role-playing is the struggling with friends. If you reach a point where there is no struggle then there is little joy. I see posts from people with high level characters who are ready to quit. That’s not surprising. If you've gotten to a point that you can solo most monsters and the ones you can't you call a hoard of clansmen to help all with enough idols that no one is challenged. Where is the challenge? Most of the upper clans in Danu have become merchants not adventurers. Kill the boss to get the drop to further the clan or sell for more money. People complain about not getting to fight bosses because clans camp and overwhelm them but that is the only thing to do at high level. Even people with alts load them up with high level items to insure quick rise in levels, missing the struggle of a new character. In the past we called them Monty Hall players, long explanation why, and we have all seen them. Level 15 with full heroic or level 50 with complete warden. These players quickly loose the thrill of the next item and they usually burned out quick. Maybe with the update that will change. I would love to see areas that idols don't work or monster with area affects so the entire group gets hit not just the tank. Just a few thought from someone that’s played for a long time.
