Honestly, Mages and Rogues should be tied for top dps with the only variance depending on the gear you are able to obtain. I do agree, the statement indicating that Mages should have great dps and Rogues should only "ok" close ranged attacks is incorrect. The idea should be thought of more along the lines of Mages specializing in top skill dps and Rogues specializing in top melee dps.Well I hate your mage statement. Completely insane. Mages top dps? My ass. Rogues are meant to be to be top dps. And hence, they are. Not mages, yall are mix of support and dps. Hence your lures. Rogues, we are dps. All of our skills are dps or dodging. Soooo yea. Learn to mechanics of an MMO before making statements. Idk if this was an innocent post. Im sorry if it was. But that pissed me off quite a bit. I honestly hate people who think that. Mages get a little taste of dps and think they should be top dps. No. Just because Yall whined so hard to get a huge boost doesnt mean anything. Still pissed mages whined THAT hard 6 months ago or so. Definitely made the classes unbalanced. Sorry about this post. But geeze.I think class differences should be big
Warrior loads of armour poor damage output
Rogue ok armour ok damage close attacks
Ranger ok armour ok damage range attacks
Druid poor armour great healer damage should be higher than what it is as it dont get used in boss fights anyway
Mage poor armour great dps
I play mage and am happy with damage output from mine
I have tried other classes worst one ive tried was def rogue but i didnt have gloves of speed so that may have scewed the result
And poor old druids there fine if there in group healing but there damage output is so poor they literally can't level on there own
Lures and wards were added as a part of V3. Previously (pre-update to V2), Mages had more than just a "little taste" of dps where damage, like Rogues, was the main roll in defeating bosses. The idea to increase resistance was used to create wards which were given to Druids, however, lures (to take away resist) were needed to counter the wards and therefore were given to the Mages simply because there was no other option.
The main reason Mages "whined so hard" was due to the fact that there was no significant way to increase energy regeneration by lux gear or skills to counteract the huge energy consumption from the dps skills. The increased effectiveness was a fix for the steady drop in "Mage power" that was tested and proven by several people in older forum posts.
