Re: Any tips for making a new clan successful?

How old are you? And I can tell you if you can make a successful clan.
If your younger than 19 or 20 then I wouldn't try. ( unless your just trying to get a moderate clan )
Young people can't lead the best clans because there are a bunch of adults who play and what 50 yr old in their right mind is going to listen to a 15 yr old for any amount of time.
If your young, don't tell anyone lol, try and act mature as possible and tell everyone your 50

I there is one piece of advise I could give for making a successful clan it's this: make everyone think your 50 or older.
The reason no one listens to you isn't because you're not 50, it's because you're an idiot.
Lol... Are you calling me an idiot?

Lol, bro, I'm happy you posted that video to "proove your point" because I have already made money off that video... Lol. And as for your theory that nobody listens to me... Well you can talk to OTM about that. http://www.celtic-heroes.com/forum/view ... hat+effect

Bro, I used to own and run the biggest clan in the game... Don't tell me nobody listens to me or likes me. I have changed this game in countless ways. I don't even know who you are. But hey your entitled to your own opinion, just how like in my opinion I think your an idiot for attacking me when you don't even really know me. Or maybe you do, maybe You read all of my posts like most everyone else.

I understand that you don't like me, and probably didn't like me long before this thread but lets just end it now. I don't really care what else you have to say and I feel like I could spend my time doing more important things.

I don't think Age comes into it really.. It's all about maturity levels.

I started 'leading' in EternalSin when I was 18 and Chieffy went inactive practically leaving the clan to me and the other Gens. We have members ranging from 13-40+ years old, husbands and wife's that play together.. They still listen all the same.

IMO, the main tip to a succesful clan is keeping it fun, organised and enforcing any rules you set. If you don't enforce the rules you set, people will start to mess you around and take you for granted.

You need to start by making a foundation.. Get 10-15 members that are loyal to you. That you know 100% won't leave you for other clans, or won't get geared and then look to join other clans. In my time of playing this game I've seen this plenty. When 1 person gets geared and then leaves for another clan, it usually has a domino effect and multiple people will start to leave, which is why you need to build a foundation before adding others.

When it comes to succesful clans, theirs 2 types:

Theirs the large clans that have a number of top members, and then a load of other members. Members within these clans generally seem to form little cliques and have their own little 'groups'. People can also dislike each other in such clans, but stay out of the way of each other as all of their friends are in the clan. The only problem with this type of clan is that, if another clan were to 'target' a group of your members, you may run the risk of losing those members, and you will generally see a fair amount of people leave and join such clans.

The other type of succesful clan, is the small but powerful clan. Small but powerful clans generally have very few low levels and are more for the 'professional' so to speak, type of gaming. These clans will have a select amount of top players, that will all be friends with one another. They try to keep people from forming cliques within the clan and maintain a friendly atmosphere between everyone. Only top players, or upcomers with potential, will be allowed to join said clans, so IMO, they are much harder to form than the larger clans. That said, they are also much easier to maintain, as you can keep everyone happy. Few people will leave or be allowed to join such clans.

However the real key is to have multiple people at the same levels. Having 1 or 2 members that are a much higher level than others will put too much pressure on those member and they may find the pressure through a game discomforting and want to leave to join another clan where they 'fit in', as I have witnessed on several occasions.

It is early here and I am just typing as it comes into my head.. Sorry if it's a load of nonsense

Rap, I can agree and disagree with you.
Here is my logic.

If your 15 and you play an MMORPG then you probably play a lot of video games, usually kids who play MMOs
Didn't start out with one. So I dub them as a gamer.
I completely agree that it's all about maturity level instead of age, but at the same time... Age comes with maturity.
So any 15 yr olds playing this game are more than likely immature since probably all they do is play games.
Have I met some 15 yr olds who seemed mature? Yeah. Spottyr2, but I still don't think he could make a clan more powerful than eve. He probably doesn't want to make a clan anyways.
So yes, your right, it doesn't have to do with age. But it does. Lol...

Yeah, i could go either way on this one... for 1, I dont think anyone should lie about their age... Be yourself. If you are a mature person, people will respect you, and no matter how many times you tell them how old you are, they will picture you as a mature adult. If you are an immature childish loser, you will not be respected, nomatter how old you are. I have know kids on CH as young as 11 that are mature, kind, and polite. And I have known grown adults who act like schoolground bullies. So yes, people generally become more mature with age, there are certainly exeptions both ways. But yes, for the most part, I wouldnt really expect someone under the age of 18ish(roughly) to have the maturity and organization to run a clan.(or any group of people, for that matter)

Also, I would like to point out that clan leaders should NOT BE CHOSEN BASED ON LEVEL. EVER. under no circumstances should a characters level have ANY INFLUENCE WHATSOEVER on his position in the clan. This goes for cheiftans, generals, and guardians. Just because somebody has reached lvl 150 does not make them a good person, or in any way fit to run a clan. Also, just because somebody has NOT reached lvl 150(or 140, or 130, or whatever), doesnt mean that they are UNfit to run a clan. Leaders should be chosen based on maturity, ethics, politeness(is that a word), and willingness to help others.

Way back in golgatha, an individual joined, and less than a week later, was just short of DEMANDING to be a general, and have access to bank passwords. His reasoning was that he had been a cheiftan of his own clan, so that obviously meant he was qualified to be a general in ours(he later actually tried to become cheiftan of golg.) Noone knew anything about him, or his former clan(other than the fact that it croaked), and he was insisting that he be made a general, and be given special treatment. If it had been up to me, he would have been kicked then and there, but for reasons still unbeknownst to me, he was allowed to stay, and has moved down through golg, zombie, and now I believe he's in multum. (some of you know who I'm talking about, I've had issues with this dude for a while now.)

So yeah, sorry for that little rant, but thats my thoughts on choosing leaders for your clan.

To be honest I don't believe it has anything to do with age. Maturity level? Yes. The ability to lead others? Yes. Some people have a natural ability to lead others, whereas some are better suited to follow others. IRL I'm good at leading people,(not to brag) but in game I'm content to be a peon. If you have the ability to lead others you most likely make quick decisions, stand firm by rules that you and your generals have made, and are a good judge of character even when its over a mobile device. If these qualities are in you great! Make a clan and do as others have said such as making a good firm foundation. If not you may be better off on one of the larger clans on your server. Hope this helped.

Here are the qualities you need to be chieftain of a successful clan:

Be mature (your brain doesn't fully develop until age 25)
And personally I don't want to be lead by someone without a fully developed brain. Do you?

Be respectful (and others will respect you)

Be able to solve issues

Be logical

Must play a lot for the most success

Must be a good judge of character

Must be willing to do the right thing

Must be willing to be a servant (a chieftain is like a servant with power)

Must be well knowledges about the game

It's best if your a high level like 130+

Best if you already have trusted friends who like you

Best if you start a clan with a group of friends that way you have a base to build on

Must be patient

There is a lot more but I'm done for now. Anyone wanna add to this?
