A zookeeper finds an escaped monkey hanging from a light pole. Aiming her tranquilizer gun at the monkey, she kneels 10.0 m from the light pole, which is 5.00 m high. The tip of her gun is 1.00 m above the ground. at the same moment that the monkey drops a banana, the zookeeper shoots. If the dart travels 50.0 m/s, will the dart hit the monkey, the banana, or neither one?

Wow this problem is quite stupid. First where is the banana? In his hand? On his chest? Did he drop it behind him? You would need more info. But if its saying where shes aiming is where then banana is and the monkey is right behind it, then itll the banana because gravity will take the banana at only 9.8m/s which thats at max speed. That wont be instant.

I had problems like this in my highschool course. When I presented info like this my teacher got pissed. Because I made sense.

Not to mention the likelihood that the reason the monkey dropped the banana was to throw feces at the zookeeper who ducked and missed anyway.
