Re: Foxtrot's (beast's) guide to making money

Great guide.

If I could add that you may need to change your approach, depending on your class (I can only speak for druids and mages)

Ways to maximise your gold drops (within the game rules)

- lvl 50-90 mage - max ur cloak of fire and run around the catacombs, everything dies as you run past, you can do about 10-20 enemy per minute (6000 gold/hr) - after 90 they wont run to you automatically, but you can still run close to them

- lvl 100-150 mage, if you have maxed firestorm you can kill the pigs (all of them at once) at northern road (my record is 8 in one hit) which gets you a lot of gold quickly

- any class over lvl 120 boss hunt, solo the smaller bosses and group for the stronger ones, set up a circuit of all the bosses, and keep going round

- druids lvl 50-90 - approach ppl for boss hunting groups (try to get in with groups 20 lvls higher than you) and youll get a good share of the gold

- sell your drops, cheap. dont hang on to them, sell them for 25-40% less than the normal price, and go get more.

- always sell your other stuff at lux trader if you can afford it, if not Mclir in the castle is next best

- lvl 50-80 youll start getting pages as drops. most just sell to trader for 18 gold. build up about 5 or so and target lvl 30-40 players in shalemont and offer them at 200-300 gold each, most will buy, specially if they can get 2 or 3 pages of the set they need

- keep some spare gold on hand. always seems easier to go from 20k to 30k gold rather than from 0-10k lol

most of that is really obvious, but if u picked up one or two hint, thats good :)
thank you for helping by adding more to the guide..... anyone is welcome to add their own opinion and ways..
You cant farm anymore (or is it just me) in the updated version.
are you talking about this version or the upcoming one? because in both version you can farm gold... i think what you meant to say was, "you cant AFK" :)
Meant you cant AFK farm.

Hey all, been a while since i have updated the guide... starting off, id like to thank anyone who has helped by putting in their knowledge about farming gold. thank you to ChopStickNinja and Papi, also thank you everyone on the feed back, really appreciate it!!! :D

Now, im going to put in a little bit of more info:

Over the past few weeks, i have spent my time farming gold, selling the drops i get from the mobs. One thing i have noticed is that when ever i get little drops, like lets say im farming in shale and i get some connacht weps. So im till going around, killing, and getting more connacht weps, by the time im done, and i want to sell att the connacht wels and other ddops, i dont go to the castle lux vendor, why? Caue well, all the stuff i have, sells to the vendor for a little less than the vendor im cureently selling my drops to, and the other reason, You'll usually find me with less than 20k gold cause im always buying and stuff xP... Now, instead of going to the catles lux merchant and the village merchant, instead i go to any charm vendor and sell my drops there... At the charm vendor, the drops sells for a "little" more gold than other places... For example, yeterday i was farming in the grove in stonevale and i had like 4 bloodgrove druid staff, by the time i was done, so when i went to sell to the castle lux vendor, the gendor offered me around 50 (idk if thats correct, i have a terrible memory, but my gut says it is so...) then i went to the village in lirs and the merchat there offered me around 60 (not sure again) so i went to the carm vendor in crookback and the vendor offered me 70 gold to be exact(u dont have to go to the crook charm vendor, any charm merchat can work fine).

Also, ow eyes are good source of gold, especially the purple and blue ones, i sugest if ur looking to farm then try the eyes :)

I also heard from many clanmates thats Wyverns drop good amount of gold, so when ur high enough, u can farm on wyverns, or just lvl on em

So yea everybody, thats it for now, ill be sure to keep updating it as we go on and on, and i will also update when the new expansion come out!! Have fun guys!!n thnx for commenting and giving feedback!

P.s. if someone is lvling where ever ur farming, be kind and look for a new farming spot, it helps others lvl and builds u a good rep :)

You missed a good source of income and that is choosing your vendors.

Anything sharp, swords, axes, daggers, the weapon smith in highshore village will give you the best price.
Anything blunt, clubs, hammers maces, the weapon smith in the castle by the banker
Bows the smuggler in the tavern
Spears, the merchant at the farm
Other, quigly so make sure to keep 20k in your pocket or you won't get in

Going to the wrong merchant can cost you as much as 30 gold on a spear. Get the most out of your hard work.

Warren buffets number one rule of investing, never lose money.
This is interesting, I've never heard this before. Everyone I know thinks that charm vendors pay best price, but do these vendors sell higher than charm vendors?

UPDATE:

1) Lux shop in Carrowmore Tunnels is in my findings the best place to sell drops for the highest price.

2) If your lvl 115+ and looking to get gold, on thing you could do is farm boggans, and sell BONE SHARDS... usually, minors sell for 1-3k, lessers sell for 3-5k, common for 10-15k, greater sell for 10-20k, grands sell for 20-35k.... maybe more depending on what the prices are on your server.

3) Some items during this patch such as dmg misc charms, rings and helms from summer bosses and crowns of ALL color, you could sell for some good amount now and later.... what i like to do is gather as many of these event items and wait till 1-3 months after the event is over and sell the items for a huge profit, mainly to collectors. (For Example, i traded my Sultans Carpet 70% for Bard's Lute, then i sold the bard's lute for 650k, i later bought a 60% staff, lixes and idols, and also bought a Minstrel's Lute for 105k, now im planning to sell my Minstrel Lute 1-3 months after event for even a greater profit.. possibly will sell for 300k+, maybe more if i sell to a collector)
