sharpen vs steady aim.

sharpen doesnt last as long or give as much dmg bonus - but it affects everyone and has nice cast time (at the moment at least). Of course, steady aim, in addtion to dmg, adds a lot attack bonus - which affects your dps by increasing your chance to hit... Both are great.

With improved barbed shot and all the other new and improved skills (flame arrow, recuperate, etc.) - we will have a tough time deciding which skills to use! We may see some nice variety in rangers.

Personally, i liked longshot and sharpshot together - but i am a dex ranger.

So many skills, so few points.....

i may finally bind my imperial dragon barbed shot ring. and use more skill point rings in lieu of my aggy dmg rings. so much to experiment with - can't wait.

of course, please be aware than many skills are still being tweaked. we see the skills change 2-3 times a week sometimes. so take it with a grain of salt....
Just use steady and sharpen and get both adds

All these skills sound awesome, and one of them sounds like one I was about to recommend to OTM myself.

Hello Sharpen! Bye Bye Bolas.
What do you mean bye bye bolas? Sharpen would add like 50 damage. That does not compare to the awesomeness of bolas. Get ur stuff right, or ur fired as a ranger.

Okay bub. Before this devolves into something bigger than it should lets take a look at my fighting style.

I don't even have a single point in bolas at the moment, because I tank through mobs, bosses, etc. I use my bow to pull and keep up a continuous stream of fire on the mob while I do whatever I need to do (heal/cast a skill). It is highly effective and if there are no tanks present for my clan I can tank a boss. I also do really good damage, so dps is not an issue. I consider running around trying to evade a mobs auto attacks when I am dex based and avoid almost all of the auto attacks anyway completely pointless.

After I hit around 120, I was originally going to be putting the occasional point in bolas, to bring it up mainly just for bossing (as it can help a lot sometimes). But with this new skill called sharpen I will be able to increase my damage by say 50 damage or so, which is just totally awesome and in addition it is a group cast, so I can cast it on more than just one person at a time, which will greatly increase just about everyone's dps if I am grouped with them. This damage could possibly let me get 400 plus damage hits on mobs my level, which I have seen up til now rarely, in addition to completely taking out all the pathetic 230 odd damage hit that I manage to somehow hit occasionally.

So instead of putting the occasional point in bolas, I will put the occasional point in sharpen. The benefits of sharpen sound like they will be something else that will be quite awesome. In addition I am a dex build, which means I will probably get even more of a bonus from sharpen than your average ranger.

So yeah I will be dumping bolas possibly permanently, although I will have to check out that new rooting skill...

So as you can see, my style of fighting actually benefits the most from sharpen, and not bolas. ;)
