This topic is kinds silly. I've seen a couple of responses similar to this one:

Just farm bosses and rares and merch stuff and you will be fine that's what I do to buy elixers not use real money.

Where do you think all the elixers that you buy come from? OTM doesn't just flood the servers with new life's every time it runs low. People who spend money on plat are the ones doing this. You can sit around and say that you are much better or more skilled than someone spending money on plat but there is absolutely no truth to it.

You talk about putting in time but maybe the plat buyer doesn't have nearly as much free time as you. Jobs, families and school all take up a bunch of time. Someone who has other responsibilities can even the playing field buying plat when they can't be on more then a few hours a week.

People who don't buy plat make it seen like those who spend their money on the game are evil cheaters, but you buy from us. Who is worse? The dealer or the junkie?

No the elixirs magically appears .... Usually you will hit a extreme burn rate from platinum buyers where no platinum items are offer , due to ppl stopping buying platinum nd not enough new platinum buyers. But they keep believing the gold will transform on platinum magically . The amount of platinum per player even the ones the farm gold will be too high to be sustanaible. No even double plat will be enough ....

Without plat buyers, there is no game.

If plat doesn't give a significant enough advantage, nobody will buy it.

If you don't like this structure, don't play a free MMO

The best items in this game come from questing and boss drops, so even with plat, the people with skill and dedication are the ones on top. I know plenty of players who have spent $0 and are 150+ with great gear. If you don't buy plat, be prepared to work a lot harder but its very possible.

Theirs plat or special money buyers in all mmos and this is the only good one lol

Oh great another post pretending to be an "innocent" question but really being an attack on Plat buyers.

Most points have been made already to answer the OP and his anti Plat Buyer brigade (APB)

I just can't see what difference it makes to the APB whether some players have an advantage.

i get that someone your level with better equipment in Arena PVP might beat you. But an Alt of a higher level player would also have this good equipment so what is the difference?

Another complaint by the APB is that there will be more high levels at boss kills because the Plat Buyers can use their ill gotten gains to buy Lux. But again as the game grows there will ALWAYS be too many toons fighting for Boss resources. They will be there whether 1) they never used Plat, 2) they are Alts or 3) they spent a truck load of cash on Plat.

The APBs only valid complaint is that sigils can't be bought for gold and this is an insurmountable advantage. I dont play a Mage or Druid but i can see that would annoy. I wish OTM would allow Plat trading for this reason. Someone buys the Plat so it can't matter who spends it surely.

I usually hate posters who say if you dont love the game unconditionally then you should stop playing BUT.....

If you can't stand this game with Plat Buyers in it perhaps another game is out there waiting for you, fully developed by charitable programmers who have gotten rich on earlier work and who don't need any income.

And it comes with free cookies and a unicorn......

Ummm had i not trusted my cousin to level my warrior or given my ranger to my friend id have 3 pretty strong characters as in the past 5 months ive put like $600 real life money into gettin like ~15k plat. So ive had my part.

P.S. Lucky Americans no tax on in app purchases...

and i am suggesting that you make a LIMIT to the amount of plat players can buy
like only 3 purchasable $100 plat pack things
and only 2 purchasable $50 plat pack things
etc

something like that so the people who buy plat can have some sort of advantage and otm can still make a decent amount of money from them

That's like mcdonalds allowing people to only purchase 2 cheeseburgers , why would anY company limit their product ?

Not possible since the items plat purchases are transferable. Even if they tried by UDID or somethin it would just slow it a bit not stop it.

The reason I play this game is it is about the best free game where you have a chance without buying in - at least on iTunes.

Be glad that fashion isn't 50% of your character power and is only purchasable with plat and is bound. Be glad that the very best stuff dosent come from random stuff boxes bought with plat. It costs hundreds of usd to thousands to buy the best stuff. This is why I don't play elgard. haters should try some of the other games to know what bad is.

One thing I would like to point out is the marketing aspect of plat purchases. There is a reason most things are tradeable but a few very valuable ones are not. The goal of all micro payment games is to get players to eventually put up a little money. Then a few of them will get hooked and supply a lot of money.

This is the reason there were only a few very useful items that were not tradeable. Someone who spends a little money on say backpack space will see how easy it is to buy a little plat. Later they may decide to kick up $100 and buy a bunch of sigils or sell xp elix.

Even heavy plat buyers run out of reasons to buy and sell plat. The game needs to always recruit new spenders.

One game says 100$ a month only because they do not want stupid people makeing themseves broke. LOL They care at least.
