I want to know if anyone has the new 150 shield with the fire cloak. Seems like it would be awesome for a hybrid.

I like the shield but I can't think of a situation where it would be the best offhand to use. You either tank, or you deal damage. That shield wont allow you to solo any easier than an offhand weapon so it's not even a good idea to buy for both situation.

It would help with shatter and pummel if you're a hybrid, yes. You don't even need to swap to shield bash! But really, the cloak sucks and when will you ever use it and do better than someone else?

Stats on this fire cloak shield?

Grants a permanent cloak that deals 30-60 heat damage to attackers while the item is equipped. Adds 120 Strength points and 100 Defense I believe. 100 Cold/Heat/Magic resist, 100 armor and 5 weight. These are the stats of the lv100 Shield of the Reaver last I checked. However, I see the Shield of the Rampart being much more handy for a tank build. 200 armor, +250 Physical Attack Evasion (May need to double check) and 60 Vitality points.

I agree with blaze, if u go for a shield go for max protection, as in shield of the mountain not wind, more hp doesnt mean anything if the boss still does loads of damage, having evasion and protection its worth more than loads of hp

New lux shield, go for max protection as well, heat damage is a waste, if u want to do damage get ofhand

You either use a the new lux axe for 300 dmg or use a shield the more protective shield

Life blade is a nice offhand for me, I like it too bad it got taken out though now others can't get it anymore.

The fire cloak shield is very handy to use shield bash and shield wall and doing some damage.
Its good vs multiple enemys and good to use with sweepig blow, because all gets damage.
If ur fighting like 3-4 mobs it just do an extra damage about 150-200 each attack. Not soo bad.
