It's good to get this into perspective, mages got SUCH a huge boost, this really is a tiny reduction in comparison to what was added in the expansion. Overall mages are still hugely more powerful than pre-update.
Maybe so, but the problem now is that it may no longer viable to have an ice mage build. I like how it was because it gave me a choice between fire and ice. Now... Idk anymore

%100 agree, but dont you think that ice and fire attunement's were the problem as opposed to Ice blast being it? I'm not sure if mages are inner-balanced anymore Admin. Ice build isnt the way to go since Ice blast is basically useless, this causes a chain reaction, ice attunement is then useless, ice lure isnt worth it anymore because fire builds are so much more powerful, Then lure of ice isnt worth its skills points, ice shards isnt useful. I'm sure we are balanced with other classes but our class is still so off balance. I used 30+ redbooks to find the best build for mages and after this, well basically since Firestorm is needed, Firebolt is needed, ice attunement is needed, lure of fire is needed. Do you see where I'm going with this? Ice and fire arnt balanced skills. Therefore Mages arnt balanced a debuff for mages was needed, but sadly the wrong skills were debuffed.

I know another patch will have to wait, but maybe the mage community needed to be contacted with before totally changing our skills. Iceblast may have seen like one skill, but it actually is the one skill that balanced mages and now it is useless. I hope you take this to heart, Admin, I am a leading mage in a clan and they come to me for help, but what am I suppose to give them now.

New fix:

Reduce ice and fire attunement by %25
Reduce all damage attacks except for Firebolt by %10
Even that wouldn't totally work out Dean, attunements are actually less of a DPS increase than simply including another skill so nerfing them wouldn't matter much. In my opinion a fair nerf would have been something like

Reduce Ice shards/Iceblast damage by 10% (longer cooldowns, less % lost)
Reduce Firestorm/Firebolt damage by 15% (quicker cooldowns, more % lost)

I guarantee that alone would give rogues the DPS lead again as they've come to expect and it wouldn't completely neuter Ice as a viable spec which this change did.

45% is too much! Ice blast is not worth it anymore. When finally mages got what they wanted to be ALMOST as good as rogues otm does this. I know its a very flexible class but most mages only want dps. Now we are left again with bad armour, a +500 wand cane and alot of energy costs.It should have been 10% decrease only its just too much! Also spells do evade alot shouldnt higher dmg compensate that??

OP? From kids wining about our energy shield in pvp we are now being made weak? We can't solo lvl well. Without e shield we can't take damage, it costs loads of energy to run e shield so lvling is hard. Well weldone for wining about us in pvp, now we can't level or dps well, looks like we are now only support.

The new mobs have SUCH an high auto-attack ( over 3-400s cuz you dont allow us to have armor ) and we NEED that SUCH a huge boost because the new mobs ( talking about 3* ) have like 16k health ( 5 times my max health ) and do much more damage than pre-update mobs ( looking at wyvern 4* hittin 200s with auto )
Mage isnt OP at all. We need that damage boosts to stanc a chance trieng to solo level ( wich is almost impossible without sigils ).

Screw that, I thing the only thing the shouldn't nerf is the ENERGY SHIELD
agreed. I still don't understand why it has the same energy cost...

Energy Shield - 50/35 -- 1584 absorb for 1608 energy. :lol:

So basically I can have energy shield on, have 2500 hp and still get killed in 1 hit by a troll's crushing blow. Awesome.
