Hi there, we have been doing extensive testing and are looking into ways to make energy shield a better gameplay mechanic, currently it's very binary either you have a shield or you die which isn't that great. There should be several strategies rather than having to have a shield all the time, so with that in mind we will be looking into any suggestions about this. As always we will also be listening to any requests resulting in balance such as this one.

Our armor is terrible and eshield was the only thing that kept us alive pre update.

Post update I got the balls to drop eshield ? Why would I do such a thing ? Well because my burst damage was so powerful I could destroy single mobs before they killed me. Back to eshield I go. But wait, theres more! Its also now nerfed.

When are we getting warrior armor ?

Op? You're just a other class wining about us in pvp. You know how much energyshield costs? We can hardly solo lvl. Without e shield we can't take hits with our weak armor, so i suggest you play mage and get a better understanding before posting pure nonsense.

ok for mages it is a stupid nerf. if u dont want us to hit higher i suggest:
less cost of energy on energy shield
lower cd on energy shield and ice blast
give us a higher armor on the mages armors to resist better i take 450dmg against a lvl157 boggan (I'm lvl156 mage)

there with that mages would be more than ok and should stop those jealous rogues, warriors, druids and rangers to spread stupid rumors :roll:

I suggest making it absorb damage based on the casters mana. For example it could take 30% mana to 100% physical damage absorbed . Possibly needs further testing but the only other e shield i have encountered was in diablo 2 . When its cast you take less damage until your mana i depleted. Then you basically just die. I think it definately should have based its absorption of damage based on the energy of the mage . Not just a fixed amount as it is currently.

also, when I think about "fine tuning" a class I think of doing minor adjustments here and there.

NOT FORTY FIVE PERCENT

this significant number leads me to believe that you guys have no idea wtf is going on and we were screwed from the get go. A nerf so large makes it look like you didnt even beta and are just using kentucky windage on class issues as they pop up. How can ou possibly be off by 45 friggen percent.

Lots of people was asking for there class to be buffed not mages to be nerfed. Yes they did need a nerf but it should of been small then a increase in others. OTM have chosen an issue of classes being underpowered and instead of working on 4 classes which are not working right thye have chose to decrease a class greatly and also decrease rogues which was already underpowered. Iceblast was very overpowered and i do think that skill needed a 20-30% nerf hitting 11k was a joke seeing as assainate can only hit that with a spear and its not aoe and has restrictions. But the nerf was massive instead of increasing all other classes. They need someone who plays the game to work for them.
Rogues have never been underpowered, i think you need to learn to build a rogue. From my observations the rogues on Morrigan do great at the moment. I only see a need for skill emphasis on melee "right clcking" buffs. Faster attack speed and damage buff skills that rogues can cast on themselves or others with a slightly weaker effect. I think this "Op class this and Op class that" is ridiculous and the answer to rogue problems is what i have suggested. Nerfing mages was a bad move in my opinion.

Energy shield used to cause damage done to come off of energy instead of health, but tha was way to OP and we changed that when we beta tested update 3.

I like energy shield the way it is now, even after the reduction, I just think the casting cost needs a 25% reduction as well.

Regarding the armor, we should never have warrior armor, but a small change may be warranted. I regularly train with a ranger and I have more health than her, but without shield I die in no time. Maybe a small armor bump (not as high as rangers or rogues) but also add defense stats to our armor. At level 166 with aggy gear...ancient wyrmbone and ancient beastbone, my defense is 10.
