Druid Obituaries

#1
Our top druid quit the game today, Ghandi.
He was the first in our world to put up a 1,700 heal.

He could not afford the needed lux items to keep up with druid energy demands.
So he switched to his rouge as a main. His frustration grew to the point that he has decided to walk away.

The final straw was a penitence of relief from OTM of a 30% drop in energy cost of vines seems kind of a joke.

Just interested how many other Druids have quit so far.
Though it was time have a place to keep track of our losses.

Sorry, but out of frustration? It doesn't take a day to fix things... Obviously ALOT of people are impatient.
A day? Tis was done on purpose. Good druids were saving players from having to spam plat items to stay alive. By good druid i meant the ones of us that spent 100s of bucks to be a monster with infinite energy. Your negative comments just shows how little u understand druid mechanics,so please go back to your respective forum and cry about mages more please.

In Taranis, we have had no druid losses.... I would guess this is partly because Druids here know a ton about druid mechanics and have learned to conserve their energy and turn the in/out-of-combat setback into something they can make use of (its true).

A Druid is an art, not just a class. You can not just decide one day to make a druid, use 100-200 elixs, and then consider yourself a master... You need to know how to use the skills available to you for the best advantage, and you need to know when and who to cast them on, along with mastering evading AOEs and keeping other's in your group alive. On top of all this you need to develop the skill sequence that allows you to most effectively boss, but most importantly you must learn to live and weave around the Druid-Hating eminence that is One Thumb Mobile. That is what differentiates a true Druid from a fake Druid.

While Ghandi may be the first druid of your server to reach a 1700 heal, you must make note that he gave up. I am level 132, have a heal that takes about 400 energy, My energy regen (with sigils) is 70 energy per tick. I have maxed Touch, Embrace, Bark, and Abund: a very energy-heavy set up. However, I know how to use the energy and skills given to me for the largest potential advantage. I rarely run out of energy on bosses (and I don't use pots), and can honestly claim to be one of the few druids to ever soloheal Deadroot (back before update).

I am one of the few platless druids, and have it worse than almost all of you, even Ghandi... But do you see me giving up?

I could toot my own trumpet like regenleif does, but, I wont. The difference in level between a level 125 and level 150+ is huge. So silly comments like the first to solo heal deadroot, imo are just fluff. Ghandi is an awesome druid, who could probably out class regenleif in the current game version and previous game versions with very little effort.

That said, I believe the reason for hanging up his druid spurs, stem from the huge changes in game play that the druid class has seen with every update. I have kept quiet on the subject, as I do believe it's early days and there will be sunshine ahead, but the frustration does creep in.

So please leave the self fellating talk at the door, if he is so hell bent on helping the class, maybe not saying how awesome a druid he is might be a good idea!

I agree, Ghandi was one of the top druids in Rhiannon and I am sad to see him go. I understand his frustration and i am quite frustrated myself. I have a lot of time to play right now but i don't bother to log on as much now due to the frustration that comes with playing a druid. We used to actually be needed for boss fights, now it seems bolas is the new best skill in game and the only way to take new bosses. Meanwhile, OTM keeps giving us half assed bandaid fixes that do not address the underlying problems.

+1 Hate to sound like a di** here but there are alot of druids that know how to play aswell at a way higher level of gameplay having issues still. We aren't talking about the average druids. We're talking about top ten druids in all worlds. Last time i checked i was third highest overall and still havent rebirth to full focus to set highest yet. So lets say i dropped a spot or two on rankings, lets call me one of the top five highest heals on all worlds.

Maybe if i flex my druid powers a bit and toot my own horn people will listen. Before update i could solo heal lava with just a few idols used on the rogues. Cant even come close anymore cause of how fast we burn energy now. So to say you can overcome energy problems in a leveling group or whatever you were talking about does not in anyway prove there isnt a glaring problem here. We need to have our energy costs reduced at the very least and posts like that saying because one mid leveled druid seems to think were ok doesnt say alot about the problem at hand.

Druid muscle flex time.......Stretchin....closing in on a 2100 heal.....rosmerta......clan revenge.......oh and i still have massive energy problems even at bosses dont really care about leveling as much as i want to be effective at bosses. So since im so oviously good at the game could i get some recognition?

Lets just hope the 10% energy reduction on touch and bark help cause im not sure how much more frustrated i can be at a game before i throw my hands up aswell. Sorry to see other great druids dropping like flies :( already the most under represented class over 160.

I have played a druid for more than a year and a half now and have gone through several builds to create the best and most versatile druid possible. I have never been the druid that sits and watched other people play the game while waiting to throw in a few heals and buffs every now and then. I always want to engage and push my toon to do everything possible to win and have fun. Druids by far are the most challenging class if you consider doing more than sideline heals.

The issue is really not about balance between classes or even balance between a support build vs. DPS build. This is about playability.

When you have no energy your done playing, period. It is kind of like getting a forced time-out. "Hey Druid, you've been having too much fun, time to take your manditory nap" thing.

Pike knows me and most on Rhinnon know me, I know how to play my toon and I know most if not all the tricks to conserve energy. The issue is none of them worked.

When you come to a place where you can't play you toon at the level you expect... Then it is no longer fun.

I hope the new 10% reductions help.
