Sooo Im currently running a dex build with the following equipment

Lvl 137 Ranger

Str-5(25) -Imperial Wyrmscale
Dex -415(500) -Burial Ring and Golden Ice quiver
Foc-10(35)
Vit-270(290)

My question is, would Sharpshot make this a better solo build? Or would Longshot?

I use the following rings
-Grand Lightheal
-Burial ring of ranged combat mastery
-Grand longshot
-Royal Sharpen
I usually swap the sharpen for a superior stormfist

Any comments?

U have to have lonoshot and sharp shot there necessities for the full dexterity build

If you must pick one or the other, do sharpshot, you will be able to use it more. If you have to keep long at level one and mebbe bosst it with a ring or two- its what I do. still does decent dmg.

Find a way to use both sharp shot and long shot. Sadly we have very limited skill points...

One of the first things i did when i got long shot was, of course, to reskill and see what it can do ...

I must admit, it hits hard when maxed out, and if you are a bolas ranger (i am not) it may work well for you.

But in the end, it seemed to me, that sharp shot, using the same number of skill points, could deliver more damage over time and at any range, whereas long shot did not.

Personally, i hate level based skills where you have to sink in max pints to be able to handle a 170 or more now.

Anyway, my opinion ... Long shot a waste of skill points ... Sharp shot still worth all the skill points you can get in there.

As far as soloing goes, Long Shot is just about useless, even with Bolas IMO. However, in a group/boss setting where you aren't (or probably shouldn't) have aggro, the Long Shot and Rapid Shot fully maxed out are an awesome combo.

Would sharpen weapons be a good strategic move? I am mainly looking for a split 50/50

Half for group based lvling

Half for solo based lvling

Does that make any sense? Like what skills should I use in this case? How should my stats look?

Also I am now 140 so getting there
