Re: Figuring Haste item weapon speed

Lol you guys need to pay attention in Maths class.

Very simple

New weapon speed = Old Weapon speed x [1-(Haste %/100)]

Example

Weapon speed = 2000
Using 30% haste gloves

New weapon speed = 2000 x [1-(30/100)] = 2000 x [1-0.3) = 2000 x 0.7 = 1400

Yoi shouldnt really need an equation but im guessing you guys cant work out %s in your head.
Yep very simple, let me simplify it for you.

Example

Weapon speed = 2000
Using 30% haste gloves

2000 x 0.30 = 600

2000 - 600 = 1400

Or even simpler, use a calculator and just type in 2000-30% and it gives you it right there.

So far for everyone saying how simple it is you're not getting it right.

The delay on a weapon is a measure of time which requires a different set of logic then the logic % of distance or money.

If you have 100% haste the weapon swings 2 times faster. A 2000 delay weapon would then be 1000 delay with 100% haste.

Formula looks like this:

new delay = weapon delay - ((weapon delay/2) * percentage)

so, for a 2000 delay weapon, with 100% haste looks like this:

2000 - ( (2000/2) * 1.00) =
doing math in proper order
2000 - (1000 *1)
2000 - 1000
= 1000 for the new delay.

2000 delay weapon with 30% haste:

2000 - ( (2000/2) * 0.30)
2000 - ( 1000 * .3)
2000 - 300
1700 new dealy

Hope this helps :D

okay

50% haste, here's my math

((((2000 x (3000-2900) x sqrt(25))/20000))40)/2

So yeah you just do that because there's different logic just because you changed it from money to haste so now there's a very hard complex way to find out this haste now. Your welcome for helping you find it out because maths.

No it's no different.

It's how it's worded on the description that may make it confusing. It says it boosts your attack speed by 50% meaning it decreases your attack speed by 50%. Decrease means go down and by 50% so we take 2000 and go down by 50% of that and we get 1000 speed. I understand how you may think of it differently but it really is just confusing how they worded the item description. I know that by using a timer on my ipod and clicking the "lap" button as soon as I strike the mob I get very close to 1 second which is how it is supposed to be according to my calculation.

I'll even use the other guy's mph thing for example. He says if you go 50% of 60 mph faster, then you go 90 mph. Well do the opposite, take that 50% away and you're now at 30 mph. Half of the original which is just like my math explained. Let's try 100 mph, 50% increase in speed = 150 mph. Take the opposite and you are now going 50 mph.

Can you just hear the epicness if you have:
30% haste gloves+ 30% haste ring+30% haste dagger= 90% haste speed bonus
Now tell me how epic that is with 2000 speed dagger :D

Read the logic statement:

If you have 100% haste the weapon swings 2 times faster. A 2000 delay weapon would then be 1000 delay with 100% haste.

that is the logic of weapon delay in MMO games. From Everquest all the way to our Celtic heroes game. 100% haste DOES NOT reduce your delay by 100%, it makes you swing 100% faster.

My formula so far is the only one that satisfies this logic.

http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition ... difference (mind you I' not really sure if I'm even allowed to post links so just in case this gets removed then just google finding percent decrease and you will find something.)

That calculates percent difference as well and shows it how I did it just enter in 2000 in the first box and 1000 in the second, you need to scroll down some to find the calculator. If it is false and your way is correct then they should really make the item description more clear because so far everyone who I have talked to about this says it HALVES the attack speed.
