Re: Enduring Guard or Pro Stance for DPS?

That was wrong i shouldn't have said that sorry guys that was rude. Prot adds armor right? And that reduces incoming dmg right? Enduring guard says just physical and def formation says it increases defense which means more dodge no? Anyways once again sorry for being rude I do see things diff shouldnt have cut you his down wasn't being serious with comment serious with apology though

-.- this guy obviously doesnt know what proc stance does... <--not meant as offensive; meant as statement

proc stance increases armor - armor protects against PHYSICAL DAMAGE

enduring guard increases physical evasion - evasion helps DODGE

so basically hes asking whether we would want to put our trust in an enduring guard which will help you dodge more frequently
or whether to put in stance which just helps decrease all damage

Where did you guys get the info on armor only reducing physical dmg? Cause I have looked and looked and probably, besides blazes guide, that is the only place. Don't get me wrong but, it makes sense and I am not doubting that I had it backwards but, I would like to know where you found the information. No offense taken I already made myself look like an idiot earlier in this thread anyways

An even better answer is

If you are dps, and u have 1k hp, you ain't gonna live long, and certainly not tank, so you should be maxing offensive skills, not defensive. With limited skill points u need to have giant swing, shatter, pummel, etc.

Max those, and you won't have ability to have points in other skills.

And for my hybrid style build

Max bash, giant, wall, shatter, def form... And I have a few points in prot stance... Although I rarely cast

Usually def form early

Then shatter giant auto... Then maybe. Bash and wall...

I'm not big on pummel as my h2h isn't high... And sweep is a good way to just die...

My gear is radiant, dps brace, and a few odds and ends.. Dam in 1100-1200 range usually

Its common knowledge armor is really pierce/slash/crush resistance each 1 armor point equals 1 pierce/slash/crush resist. so therefore armor reduces damage taken by these three damage types which happen to be all physical damage types and the only possible physical damage type so in the end armor reduces physical damage.

You can also look at each resistance individualy. As you add or decrease armor, you'll notice the physical resistances change while elemental resistances will remain the same (unless the gear that provides armor includes elemental resistance). Even then, 1 point of armor is equal to 1 point of resistance to each physical damage type.
