Wands.

I still believe that wands should be mid ranged damage.
They should not be as ranged and a bow and should not be able to do as much damage as a bow but, they should be ranged.

I dunno, using a wand with like 20 str hitting 15s accompanied by cloak of fire hitting 15s and using firebolt hitting 150s if you hit them 4times with the wand and cloak youve already dealt 120 damage which is the equivalent to using a low range firebolt and you've dropped an enemy in 4 firebolt hits rather than 5.

If there was a spell for mages like root then id understand but by the time you've hit the first firebolt you'd only get 1 hit in with a ranged wand before they'd be standing infront of you!

Maybe if they intend to introduce such a spell for mages in the future, ranged wands might be something to consider!

Mages are not made to be tanks nor are they made to be main damage dealers.
Wands are not made to be used like a sword.
Mages should be all ranged. Therefore, should not have to wait to attack something when it is right in their face.
Wands should not be as strong as knives, swords, or bows but, they should be ranged.

Dont get me wrong, I've played mages in every MMO I've played in the last 7ish years and I agree with everything you're saying, but there is no point in having a ranged wand right now, it will be exactly the same story with the ranger problems where they're supposed to be ranged but as soon as you fire the first shot you're engaged in CQC within a second. Right now the game just isn't built for ranged classes, until they bring out a spell that can hold an enemy in place a ranged wand would be pointless.

Having "Magical Damage" on a wand seems useless then unless, it adds magical damage to my firebolt.
If not, it should be Blunt Damage.
It would help in a group also.
You could stand back and use firebolt and the ranged wand while the tank hits up close.
Because the wand would not do as much damage, it would hardly cause agro to switch to you.
If the agro should switch to you, the enemy would have to travel some distance to get to you because, you are not right on top of it.
By this time, the monster could already be dead.

True it would help in group situations having either the wand bump up your spell damage or be ranged, but for just killing mobs by yourself without a spell to slow or stop the enemy it would be useless being ranged although the +spell damage would be a brilliant idea!

I usually play the Healing and Party Support classes but, the Druid was kind of not flying with me. They don't even get a pet.
I picked a Mage and found it pointless for a Mage to have to smash a enemy with a wand.
In most MMOs that I have played, even in just regular RPGs, wands are ranged damage.
They even give some sort of bump to your magical attack and magic skills.

Actually, since mages wear the thinnest armor, they ARE supposed to be the primary damage dealers. It all balances out in terms offense vs defense (armor). For now, this is not the case, but I have faith that in time, the Devs will gradually work this out.

I do agree that wands and Druid staffs should be ranged, but the movement speed of enemies needs to be fixed before that happens.

As for adding pets, I think it's a great idea, just keep in mind that it is a small Dev team taking on a huge challenge... Be patient.

There's no problem having wands ranged, they were ranged originally and we reduced the range, but if you prefer we can add back a bit of range to them.

Mages are much improved in the update as well.
