Re: Drogonlord Boss Policies

So, lets get some voting on these proposed rules:

Melee classes - need to be no lower than 10 below the boss
druids - druids over 150 can dice two times each, druids under 150 (above 120) get a single roll. if all the druids are 150+, then all get one roll :)
Mages - should be within 10 of a boss, but we can allow a lower level support mage in if there are no other mages - they would get blue drops. I think this is reasonable cause those lures and boosts are really helpful

alts: alts are allowed full dicing (like a separate player) if approved by the group (presumably before the battle). As a courtesy, the player with the alt should ask the group if they need/want their alt at the battle and allow the group to say they think they are strong enough, or 'yes, please bring your other druid'. If you bring your alt without grps approval, it is appreciated, but is not eligible for dicing. Groups must recognize that a player might get more than one drop (one on each toon) if they allow the alt in. But this should be ok, since the alt would only be allowed in if it served a vital purpose - and thus should be allowed to get drops as full members.

Multiple drops: a player/toon can get multiple drops if they are the only one qualified or if they have an invited alt.

Drop eligibility: You can only get drops if:
1. the drop is for your class
2. you still need that drop (i.e. you have less than 4 gems for example)
3. no one needs the drop, so it is diced by the entire group.

Finally, drops should be distributed in a way for maximal toons to benefit. so if an egg and urn drop and on player needs both while the other only needs one, the drops should be given away so both get something they need.

One last thing: ppl should be fighting before target lock to be eligible for drops.

We can further discuss these rules, or we can vote to accept them.

I hope i have captured the gist of majority based on my discussion in game and on forums.

thanks!

Sounds good up to the point about alts, I don't think you should be able to get 2 drops in a fight because you brought in an alt. It never worked like that for aggy and I don't think we should start hogging drops up for alts now...

yes, but if a group says they want you at the fight - and you are pre-approved cause you are needed, then i think that is worth something. after all, you are working hard to play two devices and you are likely spending twice as much in idols in order to provide a function the group has decided is needed.

someone who doesn't play alts well, or who wants to bring someone to the battle that isn't needed (a 4th ranger for example) will be told they are not needed and so will not be eligible. This lets each group assess the situation and decide what is fair. i would rather have someone bring a druid or mage alt if we are lacking in these critical area, even if it reduces my chance of a drop.

Say we need a mage and a druid and I bring my rogue as well since he is my main and we are short so we need plenty dps. That's 3 chars for 1 person, still following? Now say a blue a green and a purple egg drop from this spider queen. I'm the only mage so automatically get blue, then we dice and I win purple egg, and then we dice and I win green egg. yay I won 3 drops? All alts were needed and all alts function as a whole other person correct?

That's why I believe it should only be 1 drop per person and not per character, even though you may feel disadvantaged having to choose between an alt or a main(Choose your main!!!) I mean you still have a chance to gear your alt, roll fails on your main? No worries, you now have a chance at gearing your alt!

I agree with the one drop person rule as opposed to characters. I myself pretty much only play on one toon as others do and it would be disheartening to join boss fights at a disadvantage. Although, i have all gems and lets say a purp gem drops and someone has an alt rogue in group, they can have it.

i am good either way. I am fine if you brought 3 fully functioning alts and the rolls just went your way. if i am part of a group who says i need you to bring your alt, i should expect you will have a larger chance of getting stuff.

That being said, if you don't want to count alts - that is fine with me too. However, if i bring my mage to a battle that needs a mage, i do not want to get screwed out of a yellow drop just because a blue one dropped. That needs to be clear. Lots of ways to handle that situation - but it needs to be addressed.

I will start a different thread to just deal with these tricky situations - then i will recompile the rules.
