Ice spells:
what about a large piece of ice falling from the sky? the spell will only hit a stationary target like in a boss fight.
fire:
what about lava shooting from the ground around the target, or under the target shooting up.

Lures:
what about combining all the lures into one, rasing the mana cost, increasing cooldown timer, and adding nature magic to it?

Druid:
what if a druid could grow roots making him unable to move for a certain amount of time but increasing healing?

Druids do have a rooting spell.

Well, my druid barely moves when healing anyways, so rooting really wouldn't change anything...

Anyways, back to mages. :D

How about a cold cloud that reduces an opponent's movements.

Another thing that could be cool is a skill that lets you remove a skill that was cast on you/allies. Let's call it "Purify" for discussions sake. For example, boss casts bolas on the tank, mage then casts Purify on the tank and removes the bolas.

Or a Mirror spell that reflects one (skill?) hit back to the opponent...

The sort of changes I would like to see
Area damage
A freeze spell exactly like roots
Nuke type thing where all energy goes in one spell causining max damage
I wouldn't want this to drain Heath bar as I think Mage build should be an energy build but like me most mages have gone for vit builds I would love to go back to all energy build but the current game mechanics make this unfeasable
Enegy shield work for a set period of time for a set mana cost
Id also like to see spell damage doubled and mana cost per cast doubled
I think changes such as these will turn us mages back into giant mana battery's instead of the current vit build that everyone is at the moment
The other thing that would be needed to finally persuade us vit mages to become focus build would be for Druids to cast an energy refill spell
Another type of spell that would be nice to have is necromancer type stuff
Summon a zombie
Resurrect the dead
Drain life where you drain enemy Heath and it refills some of yours
Doing Magic stuff since June 2011

Necromancy and draining life would be more suitable for a druid if you think about the rule of the class.

Furthermore why is everyone looking at what you already have try thinking outside of the fire ice combo what other attack spells could you have. Im sure some of you have thought of something other than fire and ice.

Call them anything you like
Mana prison that traps an enemy
Mana blast uses all your mana in one hit
Mana shield makes an unpenatratable barrier for 30sec you can't shoot out but nothing can shoot in
And necromancy tends to be a Mage skill
Druids could have a restore life or summon beast
But generally mages r the ones who summon undead and drain life from enemy's Druids r usually more In touch with nature restoring health rather than draining it
Plus it would be quite cool summoning your own personal Skelton to fight with you in battle
Or a Druid summoning a bear or tiger to fight with them
What ever new skills r introduced I just hope that the mana cost is much higher for casting them so that mages finally become mana battery's instead of the current vit build that seems to be the norm at moment
And give them
Some loving with faster casting equipment everyone else has gloves of speed which r totally pointless on a Mage as his wand hits like a little girl

More skill slots 6 is not enough for a caster 9 would fit on screen lovely plus if you added an extra item slot next to the existing 2 and allowed those three to be used for either we could have 12 in total with not much loss of screen space and I can garentee I for one would buy all 12
