The surefire way of making gold is to just keep playing. It comes with levels and the higher you are, the more you earn, assuming you don't waste your gold on stupid stuff. I've never played any MMO game where I lacked gold. I always seem to end up with millions (or thousands depending on game), without doing anything special.
Of course, folks are always going to look for a way to make a quick buck. But just as in real life, perseverance rewards a person more than random luck.
