Str vs dex ranger?
#1Which is generally "better", as in which is more common, earlier/later levels pros and cons, faster mob clear time?
I would try double shot. Double your auto, And mobs cant evade it! I disagree with the light heal statement memo, Every skill point you add into light heal adds about 10, I used to have my light heal at 15, no dex, I hit 156 with it! So I would still suggest using light heal. Im not excactly sure about sharpen with a strength build, It adds DMG to your wep, which multiplies off of your Str. But its a dex-based skill! Hmm.... Rapid shot is ok if your fine with the slow cooldown. Bolas is better when your higher leveled, you don't really need it starting out. But I would try and keep it 10 levels above you at all times. Just to be safe.Would steady aim or sharpen weapons be better with a str ranger? And also, i went for strength and im maxing light heal, rapid shot and bolas. What else would u suggest?
No, don't get rid of light heal. It's still much faster and better than bandage wounds. Just keep 100 dex to make it semi effective. Longshot is based off your dex and auto attack, so it still works with a strength ranger. Here's my recommendation:if u rely on a str build, dont waste points in light heal, because its a dex based skill and the heal won't be as good as in a dex build. If Str Build, then max Double SHOT (be careful: not double attack, because this is for Spear/Knuts Melee Ranger), Rapidshot, Steady Aim, Sharpen Weapon, Bolas. Maybe some points also in Entangle first, then in Defensive Spikes.
Some rangers say, that their Longshot works also fine with their Str Build. But never tested it.
It also depends on how u are leveling: Solo? In a Group? With your Clan? If you level always solo, then go for a dex build, since you will just need the high Heal potential of a Ranger.
Hope this helps.

Double Attack: works on mobs 10 lvls higher than yourself (or more depending on what youre training on)
Rapid Shot: Maxed or near maxed
Light heal: Maxed
Bolas: Maxed or 10 levels higher, good for bosses
Longshot: Leftover points, does decent damage with only a few skill points
Haha i got 40 des just for equipping anc gear so maybe i'll keep a decent score on dexTry the ultimate hybrid class that this genius right here uses... I have about 350 dex, 200 strength, 10 focus and 1400 health. I put points into steady aim, sharpen weapons, double shot, rapid shot, and light heal. I have really good dps, only downside is that I don't have bolas, might have to switch something out for that.
