some help with energy.

I'm a 135 druid on mabon. I have 200 energy regen per tick with sigils and 35 with ammy and book. ive tried several different builds. I can dps very well, for about 2 minutes until energy is all gone, or i can heal like we used to for around 2 minutes as well. The only support build ive found that works is what ill call off-heals.

These so called off heals are as follows. Shield, embrace, heal. Then wait for about 45 seconds to regen before casting embrace again, and heals only if you must. This is the only way I've found to conserve energy, druids can no longer heal for 5 minutes at full pace. but with this technique I've found that I can off-heal for around 5 minutes.

The most important part is combining your skill casts. You want to regen for as long as possible before you cast. And when you cast, try to cast your skills in order. If done right, you should be able to sit back and regen while embrace gets your heals until you can cast touch then embrace.

Some guidelines. Dont cast skill until you must. Even if you cancel the cast, it still cancels regen and you must wait a bit for it to kick in again. Dont overcast. If you have 60 seconds left of shield, wait on it. Wait til its low and combine embrace and shield in the same cast combo. So you can now sit out and regen.

I realize that not all druids have sigils, but with proper meditation and off heals, you can maintain your energy a lot longer.

As far as skills go I recommend, touch, embrace, shield. Then meditate or abundance.

Abundance will give you a little more time to wait before you cast, which will help regen as well.

I don't use energy harvest.

No need to get snarky about lack of feedback posts... get used to it. If I complained about all my posts that hear crickets, I'd go nuts. Some threads generate discussion, and others don't.

Anyway...

I agree with your run-down for the most part, though your particular thread is for the support Druid; solo Druids have to manage in a slightly different way. It will be helpful for people who haven't fully figured out how to adapt to the new engine. I think I am of the small minority of players who like the new engine, as it forces a more tactical approach to Druiding.

Some things to add to your energy management approach:

1. Get a misc slot Heal charm if possible (from the summer dragons): This adds directly to your heal without an increase in energy consumption. Option A is to have a higher heal for the same energy cost; Option B is to drop your skill by a point (take off a ring, for example) which could leave you with a lowered energy cost for approximately the same heal.

2. Cast Timing: You mentioned "cast combos," but for me one of the best energy management techniques when both time and heals are important is to cast precisely after sigil regen (or meditate regen) has bumped me up. This means you are using the regen efficiently, and not wasting your down time. ie. Watch your blue bar, not the cool-down timer.

3. Don't Overmax/Conserve Points: I think overmaxing is the biggest reason most people have energy issues. Though I do have Touch overmaxed when I am playing a support Druid, I don't have anything else overmaxed... and sometimes I drop below max. Look at Bark for instance... the difference of skill 29 and 35 is 101 energy, but it is hard to say if that is fully worth the cost. By using skills in your level range (and not simply trying to be the biggest buffer) you will be able to keep your costs down, and allow yourself to move points elsewhere.

ex.: A lvl 30 Bark plus a lvl 10 Abundance might be a better choice than a lvl 39 Bark... but it uses the same points, and costs 143 less energy.

Those are my 2 cents, anyhow.

I prefer wind and dex to roots, and for a simple reason, cast time. I always cast wind first against a mob, so if it evades, i can recast without drawing aggro, then i can wait about 60 seconds (with wind recast being like five) and waste less energy. While sigils cannot kick in, wind recasts save alot more the root recasts, and i think even beat using sigils (if you only have a few, like me) Roots may be a more viable option with 1k sigils. Also, i can get in my 100 dmg meelee in to help with dmg.

I guess another point to add. When you're hit with aoe damage you'll lose your regen. If you use that few seconds to cast skills. You'll be gaining some more recent in between rather than standing doing nothing.
If you cast after getting hit with aoe, any spell, you stay in battle mode and no sigils or mediate will work. Its better to stand and do nothing.

Wind begins to be useless about lvl 120. Lvl 50/40 wind cast on a lvl 160 mob does nothing to stop it from hitting you are their attack is so high. I tried this last week. -2800 did not change anything. I use bark at 50/40 to reduce damage, mine adds 800 armor.
