Most clan leaders agred as lc said.

By aloowing selling too early. U create a terrible economy and much emnity in lugh.
Ppl are already getting drops and giving to those who dont even help with quests. So it is not fair that high levels kill boss and then those who dont help can jus buy

I for one will be very upset with anyone selling do items at least until Halloween.

Ppl are already getting drops and giving to those who dont even help with quests.

How is that fair?

Not to hijack this thread, but one of the problems with the current system is that too many people come to the fights. We have 20 to 30 people for many sreng and snori fights, many of whom show up just before lock, when often, a single group of appropriate level and skill people will do.

On other worlds, the first full group that arrives gets to fight and gets the drops. They just have additional requirements, like bolas for rangers, roots for druids, warriors that can tank, etc. That makes it more likely that you can show up to a fight and get a drop. And it also encourages people to use their class specific skills, instead of everyone going DPS to level as fast as possible.

Now, between the likelihood of a 5 or 6 star mob, the drop being green, and then out dicing the 3 to 5 other druids that are there, it is getting harder and harder to get anything these days.

Not that I want to buy eggs or idols, but it is the current system that could be driving people to want to buy and sell stuff. Why not sell the few eggs you have if getting more seems so out of reach? Why not buy them if they are so hard to get?

If nothing else, I think you guys should at least make it so that you have to be there at the start to dice. They wouldn't start if they didn't have enough people, so it is not like the people who show up late are needed.

again. What you suggest casti was done with frozen items and was a huge messs. and Caused many many arguments. The selling of dl items is just plain a bad idea.
It has been found from experience that the selling of the items creates a terrible situation. This was voted on and agreed on by clan leaders that dl items are not to be sold. At haloween, it will be revisited.

The whole point of the sharing sytem as well as repay was to allow others to get the items needed. However, i see many ppl that are on one end of the sharing system. Some only recieve and never repay or some on give and never get back.

I wasn't supporting buying and selling DL items, just offering an idea of why our current system might be pushing some towards it.

Azz says it was decided by clan leaders, but that is not entirely accurate. It was voted on these forums - more than once. We, as a whole, did not like the way frozen was done. We dont like the idea that you need to be rich to get your quests complete. we also didnt like the idea that quest items might be sold by someone who couldnt use them (ranger selling red for example).

so we discussed and voted and discussed more. no system is perfect, and ours has evolved a lot.

a few fun facts:
target lock was chosen because it generally happens fairly early. we didnt like people arriving at half.
dicing by class was chosen because it is more efficient at getting people their stuff faster
we signed onto the accord (to not sell) so that we didnt create a market, we helped each other out. People with drops can choose who to help. This way some rich jerk doesnt just buy up stuff. So you can get drops by being at the fight and wining, or because someone thinks you are a good player and gives you a drop to help you out (or someone loans you one).

as i said, no system is perfect, but i for one am glad that not everyone whispers to me to sell everytime i get a drop! Overall, having played high level in updates2, 3 and 4 - this is by far the most friendly and cooperative. Does it take a long time to get drops - sure, but that is because of scarcity of drops, not because we are not selling them.

if you think we should change the 'who is allowed to dice' rule from target lock to being there at start, then we can certainly hold a vote on it.

Im curious, what happens when you do decide to sell drops?

The so called high levels, have gotten the majority of their armour free, and then you expect the slower levelers to pay high, sometimes outragous, prices for these items? I do not see this current strategy fair. Although there is no perfect system, selling these drops after so many have gotten theirs free seems unfair.

Although i dont propose we change the strategy but i just hope you realise others dont like to be treated differently because they dont play for hours on end or dont buy plat or dont like the grind they call leveling now days.

To correct u on one part. You dont have to buy plat or players hours on end everyday. You can still reach a high lvl and never spend real money on plat or grind for hours a day.

i dont expect the NO SELLING would change. whether or not people give you DL stuff, as loan or free, probably depends on your personality and how you are perceived. There are plenty of people, from all classes, i would give appropriate DL items to, and there are people i would never give them to.

one thing that is true, whether you get some free DL or not, you do have to put in absurd amounts of camping time to get DL. So, if you only play an hour or so a day or less, you may only get one dl drop (excluding gems) every couple weeks. Heck, there are not many rangers at snorri level and i have only gotten one drop in the last 2 or 3 weeks. it takes 44 DL drops to get full DL (including offhand and weapon) - so if you only get one per week because of the amount of time you camp and your luck, you are looking at 10+ months. This is not totally accurate since it is likely that urns and eggs will be gotten more often - but crowns and horns take a really long time.

but to the point, i would hope no one ever has to pay for dl.

cheers
