He still could have seen strategies before the patch since clans were already attempting to kill him, though.To be fair, he came up with their strategy to kill Hrungnir before the patch lol.
Learning from your mistakes does not come naturally.Then how come even after they had killed him, no other clan could?
Personally I like making strategies, made our own Hrung strategy after the patch and managed to down him first attempt, 2nd clan to down after the patch went live.
That said, watching other people attempt is not dumb.. Pretty clever IMO. If I could go and get the respawn timer on Priestess from another world with no plat used, why wouldn't I? Lol.
In a way it is similar to professional Football (Soccer). If a Manager is scheduled to play a team and that team is playing one evening but his team are not, that Manager will go to watch the teams tactics and how they play. He will then educate his team and show them their opponents vulnerability and how to get past them. He does not wait until the day and try for himself to find tactics to defeat his opponents..

Hey, it is something...If refering to root killing a mob as a serious strategy then wow.
Who do you root kill? Who kills adds? How much DPS will you need to kill those adds? How do you make sure that the heal is interrupted every time? How do you prevent people from dying and wasting any effect they have on them (tonic for example)? What if multiple roots fail? What if someone gets too close and it AoE's? Where should someone Expose/Smoke from? Where should the boss be rooted? What should close-range DPS do?If refering to root killing a mob as a serious strategy then wow.

Rooting a boss could be part of a viable strategy.. It is the things that you do aswell as that, that would make it a potentially good strategy.
Did you even see when they killed Hrungnir pre-patch? If it was simple rooting, then other clans would have done too... Use your noggin.
I find it interesting that genius appears to be found when the situation becomes desperate. I do not believe anyone on any server ever thought of the root/bolas strategies for any other past version/era of the game.The strategies are insane these days! The ones I've seen used on Hrugnir are pure genius!
