lol isint it just focus and vit?

Most people need help on builds as far as move sets. It isnt first nature to build a mage and have good energy control and be as effective as you can dps/support wise without drowning yourself in plat.

who said build is just stats? build is stats, gear, motive, skills

those are the 4 main factors imo

for example
full dps fire mage

str - none
dex - none
foc - rest in foc
vit - as much as u need according to ur lvl and gear

firebolt maxed
firestorm maxed
fire attune maxed
fire lure - half of ur max lvl (if ur lvl 120, and max lvl is 30, do 15-20, i would do 25 when i have enough skill pts in extra skill and leave it as 25)
rest in ur other skills - since its full dps i prefer ice shards


gear would be any good focus gear with decent armour (pfft who am i kidding, mages got crappy armour :p)

ofc gear isnt something we could say exactly what is best, it depends on ur budget as well, and if u can get good gear like aggy/drag/hungrir

why helping on classes? warrior is just vit and str, rogue is dex str and vit, so as rangers (usually), and druids are just foc and vit as well, why helping?
no one is got talent in the sec he started playing and made awesome build, everyone needs help at some point

mages are quite hard to build and as criminal said they are more than just stats they are skills and gear and stuff

made me laugh a bit when i read about a level 23 mage asking for a build, i got a mage to level 40 with no points in vit and all to focus, heroic rejuv.

When I first started, I put points in strength, trying to increase my wand's auto attack damage.

Armo you're not alone. I did same thing ..

But to get a good mage build you have to play around with all the skills and stats and stuff. Find what you like and ask questions.

If I remembered correctly wands in later lvls are actually crushing dmg? (meaning str has an effect?)
