So I ended up starting over with a warrior, am now level 58 and have some more questions.
o I noticed some cool lux gear costing upwards of 200K gold. Is this stuff just unattainable unless you pay real
money to buy gold? I mean I grinded boars for like 10 levels and didn't get a single gold coin. I had to buy and
sell some plat items just to get a sword.
o Does nothing ever drop for your class? I got one sword drop in 58 levels and thats it. I didn't even use it cause it sucked.
Thanks! Loving the game but there doesn't seem to be a lot of reward and making any kind of substantial money is all but impossible.
Hi tgwaste.
Welcome to CH and the forums.
Just to add to some additional points to what has already been mentioned:
Lux: First and foremost, avoid buying from the lux vendor at all cost. You can usually find what you want by shouting you are buying, or by posting that you are buying in your world forum. You can expect to pay about 70% of the retail price.
Players are always upgrading their items, and you can benefit by buying their used gear. Linked to that, there is no need to overbuy.
To give you an example, I first bought a regen ammy around your level from another player for about 60% of retail. It was a Silver energy something (can't remember now). It was enough for me at the time, but as I leveled, I found it no longer met my needs. So I sold it to another player (for slightly higher than I bought it... luckily) and then bought a Golden Ammy on the second hand market. Recently I found that to be insufficient, so I sold it to someone, and bought a Heroic Ammy from a clanmate. This tiered approach allowed me to keep my usage and gold in check.
Gold: Gold and drops can be a bit of a pain in the game, yes, but try your best to find locations that give you both. Remember to sell your drops to vendors. At your level... I would recommend heading to the Faery field next to the Stonevale farm. You will be able to gain experience, gold (maybe 15g per mob) and they have a decent drop rate. You can sell the weapons and wings they drop for up to about 60 gold per item.
By staying in this location, you also give yourself the opportunity to force the spawn of a rare Faery (name in yellow) that will drop items you can sell for 3000 or so. This is persistence based... kill and kill in a circle around the field, and you should be rewarded eventually.
You could also go slaughter Catacombs
Here is an older thread about money... disregard the things I said about items for Warden: this is no longer applicable regarding many items:

Others: You mentioned your skills... but the thing you should really check is your abilities. Make sure you have what you need as a Warrior. I assume you would have gotten it in the starter quest, but You never can tell. There are also other defensive ability quests that will help your character.
From an old thread (I was writing to another Druid... you probably don't need to worry much about interrupts):
... defensive ability quests are obtained at "Ancient Statues" throughout the zones. These are not class specific. There are three in Lir's, one in Crookback, and one in Shalemont. For each of these quests you will have to collect some objects (gems, clovers, crowns, leaves, or stones).
Clovers you can pick up off the ground in the pasture by the Tavern.
Crowns are found by knocking over three other statues (Northern Pen in Lir's, Behind the Tower on Mage Hill in Shale, and at the 1st island in Stone).
Gems are a bit annoying as you will probably have to slaughter in Crookback to get them (I think you need 5 different gems).
Leaves are dropped from four Dryads (the walking trees) in Lir's.
Stones are dropped by 4 star mobs in Shale.
Statue locations:
Lir's - Near the waterfall next to the Tavern.
Lir's - Near the waterfall by the Castle/Jill the Cow Herder.
Lir's - Beside the windmill behind Highshore village.
Crookback - In Redstone Cavern.
Shalemont - Up the hill at Greygorge, around the corner from the missing party.
These abilities will start to level once you complete the quest. If you are level 55, you will start at 0/550. These abilities allow you the chance to shrug off enemy skills. So if a Connacht Mage casts a Fireball at you, you might withstand it. As you increase the ability, you will withstand/deflect etc. the skills cast on you, which, in turn, will lessen the interrupts that you would otherwise have. Melee attacks are not affected by these skills, however, so a Bloodgove hitting you with a staff will still have a high chance of interrupting you.
That's all off the top of my head, but feel free to ask for anything else. Too bad you are on Belenus... if you were on Herne I could help you out a little.
