I think it's quite understandable that it would go unnoticed. Perhaps if you downloaded the game this version, or if Update 4 was your first roll-over, you might go through the notes in detail... but for people who have played over several versions, they tend to update and play, or tend to read the major changes and additions.

It also breaks from the logic that most had assumed. Since Skills are capped at 50, it seemed likely that the hard level cap would be 240.

I seem to recall a Ver. 3 Beta tester also saying that Admin had said (during that Beta) that the hard cap was set at 240.

Personally, I think it was at 240 in the coding, and that OTM forcefully dropped it to 200 with the last update. In the patch notes, sure... but a little ninja nonetheless.
So putting the words directly in the notes of the update isn't clear enough for people? Do they need to install a flashing neon sign that says you can only level to 200 and add 5 confirmation pages to be sure it was read? No, next time read what you're downloading before you come and complain about it.

Ah Venus... you're always such a sharp-tongued chap. I like it. :)

Bear in mind, I said it was understandable that some people missed that line. I don't recall complaining, though I did imply that it was a bit of a quiet move changing a large part of what was previously true.

In any event, neon lights would be great, thanks. ;)


But in other news, I thought the following Admin quotes might be good for a chuckle. They are listed from oldest down to the most recent.

The ongoing decreasing hardcap:

There is no max level.
I can confirm that there is currently a level cap in the game of 400.
Hi there, the max level supported by the engine has been changed to 266, however in practice it will be around 140 I would guess for update 3.
The game is now balanced up to level 240
...in the update we have raised the cap to 50 skill levels which you will get at level 240.
And the grand finale...
It's much easier to design a game with a level cap, but at the same time personally I always like to be able to level up as high as I want rather than a game forcing me to stop.

It's much easier to design a game with a level cap, but at the same time personally I always like to be able to level up as high as I want rather than a game forcing me to stop.
My favorite

It was unique to this game, now it's turning in to all the others :(

Hi just to confirm there isn't a hardcap currently - I've had the programming team check this out in case there is a bug but everything is working fine and xp is being gained normally past 200.
Haha u just made terms day probably going to start pumping out those elixs the moment he reads this.

Uchh i was actually happy with hard cap.
This way we would probably get more interesting different content to play. Other than more grinding.

How the game currently is run: high lvl players farm low lvl bosses alone. Sell stuff or for their clan bank. New players dont have to work for items anymore and have less interesting game play.

Idea to have a lvl range on maps? Lirs 1-15. If you are above 15 you will get downgrated to 15 and get x armor, mana /health etc. Catacombs 1-45(same story) and so on. This will make the game more interesting and bosses can be balanced out on levels better. rather than having high lvls solo falgren instead of making a group with the people who have been camping all day. Same goes for deflectors and catacomb bosses. I personally kill those for money because I can solo them. I do group others if they need but it steals away their experience in game as we did in v1.

Please seriously consider this and if you do I dont mind that leveling reaches 1000 just also make enough conten who stick around 100-200 because this is where most get tired of the game.

I need to be fixed. I get no exp from killing mobs or doing daily. Have pic showing daily quest an one showing hit 200 an not a single exp point being on my lvl bar.

Please fix quickly, each day is costing me exp...

I think the programming team is onto something. Id say keep the level cap and focus on horizontal content for the next 5-6 years. ;)
