It is a TERRIBLE idea for people to give you information about themselves.

You could be:

An identity thief
A serial killer
A burglar
A white slaver
A religious person looking for someone to convert
A dog kidnapper
Their EVIL twin Skippy ( escaped from the loony bin )

But seriously kind of not a good idea.

First of all, he's not asking for your address, real life name, your wife's name and for the name of your favorite pet in camp, don't see why it wouldn't be a smart thing to ask where someone RELATIVELY lives.

Did you read my post? It's obviously not aimed at the OP in particular. It was very jokey...

I think people are cleverer than you think. If someone has your town or suburb and then gets friendly with you ingame you may indeed share personal details.

Trusting person says:
"Oh I'm sad, today is my grand mother's funeral. Lucky she lives in the same town".

Bad person looks up funeral notices and then knows your name and can easily find your address.

Look of course this is 99.99 % not going to happen, but why take a chance?

Also you might not be sharing information but lots of kids play CH and may be much more trusting.
