I think rangers can either be distributed (so as to distribute sharpen wep) or consolidated. Having thought a lot about it, i am leaning toward considated, but maybe with someone like angu (with max sharpen wep) to be part of main dps grp.
The advantage to consolidated would be that rangers can act as strategic reserve. we can very quickly change the focus of our fire. we can be distributed to help both mordris, priestess, and adds. I like the idea of determining the groups and leaders on the forums so we can sort things out here rather than in game.
if the rangers are used as reinforcement/reserve - it makes sense for the general to be part of that group. we will have to also spead out to see if 'say' will work, or if we will need shouts.
The first few times, there will be a lot going on, so we will have to reduce chatter to Captains reporting to General, to bashers coordinating, to the timer giving us updates. most communications should be within group.
Groups responsible for guards should assign someone to timing their guard respawn. at 14 minutes, we will likely have to deal with one respawn while fighting mordris.
Having played with the DL offhand (and thanks again to everyone who helped me get there) - i definitely think we will need more before going up against mordris - or at least it will be easier. We also need to know how to optimize the use of DL skills, for example:
rangers dl skill: adds 600 divine dmg to auto. so all rangers can use at any time for massive extra damage
Rogue DL skill: creates a divine dot attack (damage over time). however, only one of these can be in affect on a boss at any given time! that means teh rogues will have to coordinate so they are not wasted (or be on different bosses). the system we use for bashers would likely work.
Warrior DL Skill: i cant recall the details, but seemed like multiple warriors can use simultaneously
Druid DL skill: creates a protective shield on group from chaos dmg. question - if a second druid casts while first is in effect - does it get resisted or start the timer over. Important to know so that it is used effectively. Regardless of the answer, do we put the druids with this skill in one group, or distribute them to protect many groups.
Mage DL skill: i have no idea what this one is or if many can use it at once.
so, those are some considerations to take into account as we make the groups. the DL offhands are likely to make the battle far less expensive. also, from what i can tell, the necromancer is only affected by divine dmg - so we will need everything to go up against him.
thanks - looking forward to it.
Maybe try this saturday at 12:00 noon EST?
