though I hate apple's behaviour (making old generations of devices not being able to get any more apps just for people to buy new devices, or making the iphone 5's battery 50% less effective just for people to buy 5C or 5S), I like what they do, computers included.

I used to be very heavy into Android. I was part of the android scene. I used to mod and develop for Cyanogenmod and AOKP. If you've used these two roms in the past chances are you've used work that I did. That being said I can say without a doubt that iOS is the better system. The unification is better. The response time is better (type on an apple keyboard then type on an Android keyboard. You'll see the difference). The standard that the app store holds its developers is WAY better. Sure there are some strays but compared to Android its apples and oranges.

The previous commenter said he didn't like apple forcing people to upgrade to get more apps. Well I would argue Android is just as guilty. There are many apps (especially games) that run so poorly on old Android devices that you will most certainly have to get something more modern to have a pleasant experience.

I do agree about iOS 7. Its not the best. I don't think Mr Ive is the second coming or anything and the crashes are quite annoying. But even for that, iOS is better and the bugs will get worked out eventually.

I do recommend upgrading to the 5S if possible. I love my 5s. The first time you go to purchase or download something and all you need to do is touch your fingerprint you will jump for joy. I look forward to all the power under the 5S hood once the new CH engine comes to pass.

I do want to be clear on one thing however. I would LOVE a 5" iPhone. However I will settle for the Retina iPad mini until that comes.

I don't like android. Can't explain why. I just don't like it. IOS is really good and there are many apps for it. I'm using a windows phone and its just awesome, but the appstore is a little bit small.

Android is the dominant mobile operating system on a global perspective (though the two are much closer in marketshare in the U.S.) and it beat Apple to the 1 million apps mark. Moreover, with the success of phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, brand identity around Android is growing by the day.

all of this is crap. samsung is doing good no doubt but sammy doesn't sell 9 million units in a weekend.

Well tell that to Samsung who overtook apple for most phones sold. Ever.
Samsung is doing more than just phones, they are taking the tablets market and now watches that link up to you galaxy note. How many watches link up to an idevice? Samsung is taking things to the next level, whereas Apple is overpricing their way to the back of the bus.
As for Windows, they have been slacking for the past 10 years. I dont have the numbers at hand, but windows used to be in the 90% of all OS now they are under 50%. Even The Penguin is getting in on the action.

Google for phone. Microsoft for computer

well it really depends on what u want. PC's are more universal and there are more programs for them, including viruses. i much prefer ios, it runs better and there are more apps on appstore than google play. apple products will always run better and last longer.

Please don't even suggest that they last longer...

Not only are the glass screens far more easy to break than their plastic counterparts, they weigh a lot more too.
The products get discontinued after how long?
How long until a real upgrade is made? I'm sure the recent phones have basically been 4S's and made them millions.
Most Macs cant upgrade to Mountain Lion due to apple restrictions.

iOS devices are too jailed to do anything cool, and Apple's obsession with battery performance is why we don't have dynamic/live backgrounds that were on Android years ago (Yes they really are awesome).

And Apple had how much of a head start? Are those numbers just cell phones and tablets or computers included? You just keep thinking that apple will always be top dog. The trends are there, why is there always so much pressure for Apple to have another blockbuster announcement every year. Could it be to keep their stock prices high, like I said earlier apple is overpricing themselves from their perch at the top.

My wife has the 5S and I have the S4, Both of us can go all day long. I dont see much of a difference, maybe mine is better.
