Frostbite - Low level frostbite Mage

#1
(Previous written stuff has been deleted)

Well, I bought all 4 rings as I said i would. Royal, grand, greater, lesser.
At level 19 with with only 64 focus (24 frostbite) i destroyed 4 training dummies in 1 min 13 seconds if your wondering what my dps like.

Frostbite does damage on impact, whereas incinerate does not. That's literally the only advantage it has over incinerate (unless you're ice build, but you're still better off putting points into something else).

I don't know a single mage over, let's say, level 100 that uses it. If that helps.

Another question: Does anyone know if frostbite damage is nerfed in pvp as well?

There's not much talk about frostbite. So I decided to make a topic on it, so me a long with other low levels can gain knowledge about it.

It's nearly impossible for me to get my hands on iceshard or firebolt rings. But there's a lot of people selling frostbite rings for good prices.

I'm starting a new Mage
I'm going to buy:
Royal +5 to frostbite
Grand +4 to frostbite
Greater +3 to frostbite
Lesser + 2 to frostbite
(It's not going to cost me much)
I'll be using lux as well but anyway, at level 30 I'll be 29 frostbite lol. (1+14+5+4+3+2 = 29)
I just want to try something different, even if it turns out to be weaker..

(Remember, I can't buy ANY firebolt or iceshard rings off people because I only have low level accounts and they usually won't sell to anyone but clanmates.

But I said I'll be using lux..
Says 188 energy for a cast at 29.
That's nothing compared to what the Druids have to go through..
Plus, anyway I will be using energy boost/energy shield/ice lure for my build.
Energy isn't a prob at all, I regen it back.
Plus I can just take off a few rings if the damage is unnecessary.

All DoT skills are not nerfed due to the low dmg per tick relative to insta dmg skills (nerfing it would make it essentially useless in pvp), meaning the initial hit for frost would be nerfed, but not the DoT's (chances are DoT dmg for 1 tick would do more than initial in pvp), I wouldn't recommend frostbite, it is broken.

I would rather get ice attune or simply go fire, with maxed ice attune and shards/blast you can pretty much one hit everything ur lvl.

crap skill, but again u said u wanna try something different, so good luck

i still suggest the common ice build/fire build, with 2 main skills, lure and attune, and extra energy regen/shield/dps skill

I would definitely recommend getting royal, grand rings for ice blast and ice attunement instead.
