Can someone please explain to me what is so great about this dubstep cr@p?! It just sounds like heavy music put together with a beat, but sounds horrible to the ears, and gives you a headache 5 minutes later

Agreed, a few of my friends are really into dubstep and I don't understand it. I mean sometimes the beat sounds cool to me but in most songs it's "BOWWOAHHHHHOWWWWWW BLPPPPPP"

mainstream can be stupid, it is mindless for the mostpart and is more a product than an art

Country FTW! Rap is just speaking into the mic at a monotone voice really fast. Its not music.

So singing only about beer, daughters, trucks, and tractors makes more sense?

My favourite type of music is Dubstep. Like other people have said, many do not like it because it is "not music". I really like it because it always has very good drumming beats, and I happen to play the drum kit do it all works out great:P

Listen to some proper rap then, fun fact, lil wayne and kanye west are NOT rappers! Look on youtube for vinnie paz and R.A. The rugged man, prepare to be mnd blown

You have a very closed mindset.. If you have ever heard a real rapper then you would know that the things they can spit and come up with are mind blowing. Let's see you come up with a song like Rap God by Eminem or Worldwide Choppers by Tech N9ne, then I'll consider your placement. Also with metal and screamo, have you even listened to the way they play their instruments? Most metal bands have amazing drummers and guitarists, and screaming? If you do it right, your voice will be fine. It's 10x harder to sing screamo then to just sing a song like Call Me Gaybe.. I mean maybe*, and screamo artists often can sing very well when they aren't screaming and they have very meaningful lyrics instead of, "Baby, baby, baby ohhhhh".

I'm guessing you listen to pop music or country if you don't like these genres. Next time you listen to pop music pay attention to the lyrics. Do they rhyme or are they even meaningful at all? Oh and don't forget to listen to the "instruments." AKA a beat any somewhat experienced FL Studio user can create in a short amount of time. And country, well, I like country, but like 5000 said
