Ive reached 144 but spent $5 amd that was only for backpack expansions, planning to spend $100 on double plat.

Mage in my clan hit 130 without plat. Now over 170, but has lixed most, not all, lvls from 131+
I hit 100 no-plat, but have lixed my backside off since.

just because they lixed doesnt mean they bought the lix through plat

kronoss3000 is lvl 190+ rogue on morrigan and he hasn't spent a penny. he has full DL and daggers has a mordris drop and is one of the highest if not the highest dps-ers on morrigan.

I was at 100 on 5 toons without buying plat. Bought a small amount at last double plat cause I felt the devs should get something. Now am 137 on all 5. Plat didn't help in any substantial way.

Have indirectly bought plat though. without sigils or lix it would be much harder. 99.7% of my plat items used are from farmin in game.
