In my experience spearing has been better for leveling mobs because it allows you to deal loads of damage quickly. In a longer fight, like a boss fight, a dagger will always be better for dps.

spear is unfathomable.... if you wait for skill timers on 4* mobs your dps will suck if you cant use skills... and even when youre on haste.. i saw a "spear rogue" 10 lvls under me making 800 auto dmg... i did 900 XD

i hate spear buiklds.... why? bcz all spears suck! even with this tactic with auto timer, after you used skills u got to wait for skill cooldown and thats stupid bz then its like driving a truck... i loved dagggers :p
make shadow quick riposte fastreflex and lifesteal
and i didnt had any sigils before 160
and my stats were with axe and always balanced... on your lower lvl you should make half lifesteal half reflex then shadow and quick max

This is false information... I was running a spear build with adamant pike and I could out dps rogues my lvl and some a few lvls higher easily. I never had a problem with cool down because of a solid cast method. It's very simple and per mob I only used auto two times in a row once at the most (usually they were dead before cool down caught up with me).

Last thing... if you don't build it right you will have a problem too, so that was probably yours if you ever used spear. One key thing is energy regen. If you don't have any DO NOT go with spear build. It's my understanding that the heavier your equipped weight the more energy skills use, so without any e regen you will find yourself out of energy and you will die because spear is slow (after 140 I stopped using spear because wyrmbone only does 11 more dmg and while it is slightly faster, the dagger was just better.

So recap... 120-140 spear ftw, 140+ back to dagger(or just use dagger forever, your choice).

Seriously it is idiot, go for the dagger, it is te best one, you will get free fâchées with warden quest, for the skills, you should get shadowstrike maxed, sneaky or quick strike (i recommended sneaky) maxed, and then lifesteal and reflex, but reflex is really the best to max! Mine adds 600def

Shadow/quick/sneaky? why not 2 or all of them?
shadow is always the first one which should be maxed imo, instant poison dmg, nuff said
i prefer qs over sneaky, but both are fine
