Exactly, ever since after the ythair dragon, event drops have been pretty terrible.
I disagree, samhain and yuletide 2012 were very good imo.
Eh, i dunno about your clan but we didnt even bother with Ymir. And from what Ive heard he was up for days in other servers as well. King Dreadbone was a fun encounter, but besides a handful of useful necklaces and charms, we had a crapload of burial rings nobody wanted to use at level 100 or 130.

Yule 2012 also introduced the much hated random hat quest reward system. Whats ironic though is after the Coven Hat quest during the Samhain event, people were hailing OTM for a job well done making it random - I recall I was the only one (or the very few) very vocal against it.
The coven hat quest was fun, but very hard to get the white hat because of the amount of pumpkins needed. After that quest, and the Lugh mask quest the event previous, people were bunred out on all the collecting so the random reward quest was nice because it gave people a break from stressing about the collection quests. I remember that I posted that the random reward quests were good, but only if done in moderation. Some events should have collection quests designed like the Coven hat quest, and some events should be random to give people a break. This is because the events are so close together, that people get burned out on collecting. However, making all the quests random will not make everyone happy in my opinion.

Actually, I felt the coven hat quest was the best one because you had to get three of the hat below to get the next level AND you lost the hats you had. So, after the event, some people wanted hats of another color that were lower than the one they had. For example, I worked my then-noob tail off to get a matching green coven for my then-noob darkshadow armor. Well, a collector (who later became a friend) was quite willing to trade me something I desperately needed for my green coven hat after the event, even though that person already had a white hat, merely because they wanted the additional color and had to turn theirs in to get the white one.

That's the kind of trash collection quests we should have. It makes every item worthwhile.

Boss drops were lame. We only got 2 godly rings, and one was junk. No godly charms.

Too much majestic crap!!! Its not gonna kill the game if you stop making tiered drops and make the event bosses really fun. Its been a disappointment since Summer of 2012.
I agree with every group i was in or every boss i soled i never once got a better ring, charm, pitch, or reaper from any of them all i got was the worst they could drop. Same with the witch's, all i got was minor, lesser, and the occasional greater. Besides that i got nothing else.
Idk how you all missed on godly/imperial charms or royal rings/scythes/pitchforks. I hardly camped any of the event bosses but checked on them a lot. Personally i have imperial charm (dex) on my rogue and godly charm (focus) on my druid. As a clan we got well over 10 royal rings of all kinds of skills, and i personally have every pitchfork and scythe made including the royals........

Other clans/peeps on your server just camp and kill the top level bosses before you could?!

A few clannies received the top end rings too just dont remember of godly or what skill....

Didn't really consider the Royal rings/charms as any good as there were better alternatives for level 130s. All the weapons are for novelty (and that's ok) so not really useful fighting for big bosses.
Most rogues/rangers perfer their damage charms from the 175 dragon instead of the attack/dex charm. So did the casters. Only the bathide charms were good for tanks.

Overall, the ratio of the good loot vs. the crap loot is just too skewed towards the bad side.

At least with the yule 2012 event it was feasible to receive a black hat if you turned in the quest. With these friggin masks you turn in thousands of dust and just got blue masks... Who designs this? At least let me get other colors besides the most common colors! I dont just want red and yellow and blue masks after thousands of dust turned in.

No Coven Type Again, Unless paired with a random. (Get three of one color from random then turn in to another NPC). It drove my OCD mind CRAZY!
