For the poster high on crack cocaine about knuckles being the best build, spare me.

You have no merit of facts for your statements regarding your dps, or even me tioned whst type of fight you are talkig about 1s 2s 3s 4s 5s. What is mob lvl difference for your strat to be at all effective.

Stating that you do more dps as a knuckles ranger really makes me question your i tellect on how you were trying to create a bow spec that wasnt as good.

I think my friend have the no intellect read my post prior to yours and and follow the link and check number 7 and 8. If u disbelieve me so much go buy a knuckle blade and look. The sheer speed of knuckles is what makes it so good. Nothing else. Speed alone is also what makes rogues far superior in dps than us aswell. Simple for you though.

I currently have 1040 elemental dmg on me (just from elements and nothing from pierce.)

Wyrm bow is 3200 speed or 3.2 seconds
Knuckles is 1780 speed or 1.78 seconds

Now mathematically and with just rounding knuckles to be slower and bow to faster.
1100 dmg happens more times a minute with which number a 3 or 2?

This doesn't even include steady or sharpen at a minimum of 115 each at 180+. So again thats 230 more dmg occurring faster. Speed is what this game is about now.

I cant imagine myself with a knuckleblade being able to level and boss, might as well test for a theory tho

I can usually 1/2 kill a 3* before you start to get autoing with your little glove with spikes

Depending on the skill situation, would it be possible to use the bow to get longshot on a mob (and perhaps the steady aim buff), then switch to knucks once the mob gets in close for a really fast finish? The boggans are packed pretty close together so its hard to only get 1 at a time.

I can have a 3* my lvl dead or 1 auto away before it touches me with an auto so your still far behind. I'm not talking dmg overall but sheer auto a knuck build will destroy a bow easily.

And besides the point your skills are pointless as a knuckle build. Sharp and steady by 180 should do 120 atleast now take a knuckle on haste .712 in one min you get 84 hits now take your 120 dmg buff and lower it by 1/2 bcuz of fluctuations your at 60. 60x84 = 5100 dmg. That's the same as investing in sharp. However yiur not wasting slots on energy rings or skill rings and u just blast all autos and throw on more dmg items and attack. Besides that 4k is on a dummy lets see it with a real bow on a real mob. And every half decent ranger should know by now longshot does crap on bosses bcuz of the evade type.. Dont know/dont beleive me go check. You've offered no factual information so far.

Although the 1/2 reduction you talk about would be factored in by resistances rather than fluctuation. Fluctuation would be on all hits even if the mob has no resistance to prevent a steady single damage amount.

dps for rangers is in their skills not autos...by the time u do 5100 dmg on knux...you'd do a ton more on bow. for ex lets say u have a anc wyrm bow full dex build and . if ur in a good clan lets say u alrdy have ur dl shoes gloves and helm . Now, ur quiv adds 200 dmg (lets assume u have a 150 one) that makes 20 dmg from gloves 40 from shoes and 60 from helm plus quiv so thats already a total of 320 dmg. plus bow should make it 1k+ dmg. with this lets say ur using sharp double and long as main dmg skills (all maxed or more). long should do about 2kish dmg sharp should do about 1.5k+ and double should do around sharpshots dmg (this is all if u have rings). so thats 1.5k+1.5k+2k making it already 5k dmg and if u start rapid by then you'd have done over 5.5k dmg in a shorter amount of time. knux may be faster in autos but the dps of rangers comes mostly from skills which are DEX based. more dmg comes from bow builds its a known fact...

I'm not gonna argue specific gear most rangers worth anything and at the point where all this matters has dl. We can go off mine he has all dps gear with royal skill rings and hrung dps gear. 400 str 600 dex . This is dmg done in a minute.

Here's my skills 45/45 sharp shot 2800 12 second CD

2800 x 5 = 14000

Long shot 40/40 CD 15 seconds

3600 x 4 = 14400

Total bow dmg= 28,400



Steady 45/45

160 x 84= 13440

Sharp

115 x 84= 9660

Auto dmg

200 extra per second x 60= 12000

Total knuckle dmg = 35,100

Your 7,000 dmg down thats not a little thats a lot. In an average 15 minute mordris fight your out now 105,000 dmg. This all changes when u hit dl bow. Oh and dear god i actually forgot to add since you will be using a axe off hand with an extra 100 dmg over quiver and 150 str lol your another 8,400 dmg in the hole so a total of 15400.. Seriously we need to continue?
