Re: A discussion about religion

I'm not saying that u should ignore the Old Testament. I was saying that since Jesus died on the cross for us, we do not have to obey the Law(the law of the Old Testament i mean) anymore. It is more the New Testament that u should be quoting from. The New Testament does not tell us to hate gay people. Am I saying that there r not Christians who may hate gays or blacks? No. But they are sinning if they do. But what i am trying to say is that the laws of the Old Testament are not applicable unless they are quoted in the New Testament. And the New Testament does tell us to love our neighbors( meaning everyone) as ourselves.
So I never really understood why people believe this. Did Christ mislead his followers for the first 1600 years? How could he die on the cross - then have people believe one set of scripture for 1600 years (killing gays the whole time) - then suddenly switch? Why the change 1.6 millennia in? What possible reasons would be given for a human king in Europe to make such sweeping changes to the direct word of god?

As it stands Christianity as whole has been advocating killing gays for 80% of their history and only recently has come around to thinking there may be a moral problem with this.

Oh and since Jesus was obviously Arabic it makes me laugh every time I see a hardcore racist Christian (non-Arab) who hates Arabs. Gives me a good laugh.
It seems to me that u have never read the bible. The first law was in place for the Jews and those Gentiles who decided to become Jews(this means that the gentile agreed to follow the Jewish traditions). Also the reason that the first law was in place was because of sin. That is why the Jews sacrificed animals; to hide their sins. When Jesus died on the cross, because He was perfect and His dying wiped away our sins, it took away the need for the law. The new law was for Christians to follow. I will admit that many atrocities were committed in the name of Christ. These were wrong. The Bible teaches love not hate. Show me where, in the New Testament, it says to hate gays, blacks, Arabs, and adulterers. It tells is to show them love. They should not be allowed to be a member of the church, however. Another thing u aske was why God would tell His people to kill of other countries. This was because He was punishing the people who lived in those countries. You ask what kind of God would do this and you say that it is not fair. Actually it is more than fair. All of us ( all of us, even Christians and any true Christian should tell you this) deserve to go to hell. I mean think about it. Assuming He is real, He is all-powerful and always right and He created us. If we disobey Him that is rebellion. He would be perfectly right in killing all of us and yet He did not.

Another thing evolutionists should think about: If you guys are right and i am wrong then when i die i just stop existing. Not really a punishment, right? Well, just think. If somehow, someway i am right, then you go to hell for eternity. For me its a win/win situation. What is it for u?
So your attempt to convert us is telling us that we go to hell? And by your idea, god is lesser to us. You see. The animal sacrifice. The animal is considered lesser to us. Jesus is just god in another form ergo god is lesser to us. Suck it god

Your very ability to follow your beliefs is based on the conscious, a defensive part of the body. Developed over time. By evolution. Belief has caused death in the past. Dont let it happen now.

Ok... It seems like u totally missed my point. As for saying that u will go to hell and all that, i am just looking at it logically. If u see it differently then i will be happy to listen. Jesus died for us to cover up our sins, yes. But that does not bring Him down to the importance of an animal. For instance, (this analogy might sound weird but it makes sense if u think about it) a Saint Bernard rescue dog died saving a human. So would this mean if a human died trying to save another human, would we say that he is equal with a dog? No! I wish u would address the rest of the stuff in my post. Or maybe u cnt?

Prove that evolution is true. Show me proof instead of just telling me im wrong. This topic is not about the bible. It is really whether evolution is true or creation. I am sick of hearing, go look it up yourself. I have studied evolution and creation. Show me your proof. Don't just say (for example) the fossil record supports it. Show me how it supports it.

Ok I'm really seeing some under 18 mental ability going on here. But since you asked I shall go now. Search evolution. Click the first site I find and show you the internet URL

I will read it but just so u know i asked u to respond not wiki. You say i have the mentality of someone under 18. Maybe its true, maybe its not. I already had said that it was a weird analogy. But my point was that Jesus was so much better than an animal. He only had to die once and He did it willingly. If u know the bible u will know that the Jews had to sacrifice animals over and over again.

You asked me to prove evolution is right and I gave you a very respectable source

One other thing: mutations are always random. An organism cannot make itself mutate. You may ask why dogs look different than they did centuries ago? This would not be evolution. Dogs are still dogs. Species can adapt; meaning that certain changes can occur, but it will still be, for instance, a dog. Another thing i find interesting is that when they find insect fossils(or preserved insects) that are millions of years old, they look exactly the same as present day insects. You would think that they would have improve a little in millions of years.

The insects dont need to improve. Evolution is the careful selection of certain genes to manipulate, not random, the insects are well-enough designed to live well. Like people. We don't need to evolve, the crocodile hasn't evolved in millions of years, it is that well built for survival. Animals evolve when they have to, so for a new food source or for survival. And only in those situations
